Let me start by saying I actually enjoyed our previous visits, but this time it fell completely apart on all levels including management staff. I guess eventually the true colors emerge when staff is tested with issues. Brought family that was in town to HogFish Harry’s for a family dinner. Party of 8 so you would think they would be on top of a table that would make them some money… we started with Apps and Drinks, we had two small kids with us that ordered lemonade. Wine arrived but no lemonade… asked for lemonade for second time. Waiter returns about 15 min later and asks if we are set with drinks. I ask for the kids lemonade again… and for a 2nd glass of wine at which time the waiter picks up my existing glass of wine which is still 1/3 full and starts walking away with it. I say excuse me but I’m still drinking that… ? Apps arrive but still no lemonade… fried calamari under cooked… waiter is told and he said he will replace it with one more cooked. Ask waiter for lemonade for 3rd time…. Fried calamari comes back out under cooked and still no lemonade… dinner arrives which I will say was good and cooked as asked. Wife gets up and asks manager for kids lemonade which is the 4th time. Just upon completion of dinner I have to approach the waiter for the 5th time about lemonade at which time I am completely agitated! So to add insult to injury the waiter brings the check with the lemonade at the end of the meal and would you believe the lemonade was actually on the check. Now it’s not about the $2.65 per lemonade charge, but the principle that he didn’t take it off the check or maybe offer some dessert or ice cream for the kids as a good gesture for his short comings. Instead the waiter proceeds to say “Are there anymore problems you need me to address” WTF… I then approach the manage and explain the evening and our issues with the service. Her response is “he is our best server” “I will talk to him” No apology, No effort to make the situation better. Being someone who eats out regularly and understands good customer service, this was completely unacceptable… Check included a 18% gratuity… the night finishes with a dirty look from the waiter and the manager standing there completely Lethargic with no expression. I guess this will be our last time eating...
Read moreI arrived here as a party of one since I was traveling on business. Usually this is not too big of a deal; I go out early, sit at the bar to eat dinner and am out before they get crowded. Well, this place was packed, and there were no empty seats anywhere. I figured I'd wait off to the side a bit to see if something opened up at the bar while contemplating if I needed to find another place to eat. I waited a few minutes when the manager noticed and started trying to find me a spot. He found me a great spot and honestly I felt bad tying it up for just me, but he did not seem concerned about it.
Long story short-everyone here was just super friendly and nice to me. Again, as a party of one, I'm not going to be the biggest check in the house, but I really appreciated how they treated me. That says a lot...
Now, onto the food. The grilled Hogfish was outstanding. If you've never had hogfish, you need to try it. Not many places serve it due to season and the fact it can be difficult to source. If you are not in the Keys, you will be hard pressed to find it. Try it here...it's great.
Finally, just a word on the location. It is about impossible to find it. Essentially, it faces the pool and courtyard area of a resort, so you have to venture back into it to find the restaurant. Trust me-it is worth...
Read moreI visited this restaurant today with my kids to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were spending a few days on vacation in Naples. When I walked in, I told the girl at the door that we were celebrating my husband's birthday and in case they could do anything special for him. She told me not to worry, that they would do something for him. During the meal, there were several inconveniences. We asked the person in charge of our table to explain our dish, but it turns out that he forgot to mention that it was a sandwich, which we thought was a main course. We didn't want to make them feel bad, so when the sandwiches came, we pretended that was what we had ordered. Next we ordered our second drinks and after 20 minutes I had to go up to the bar and order them myself. I am 100% sure they forgot. There were only 3 tables occupied in the place. Finally, after we finished dinner, I was waiting for dessert for my husband, which I had told them at the beginning, and they never brought it. I felt really bad because the kids and I were really looking forward to that. Anyway, the sandwiches tasted good. The kids' food was really good, though. The service was terrible. Next year I will have to pick a better place for my husband's birthday lunch because they can totally forget about making someone feel special on...
