On July 21 2024 I went to the cheesecake factory with my grandmother and my uncle. My grandma does not speak english too well so I spoke for her most of the time, I don’t know if this was the reason we were treated so bad today or what. Our server named Jeffrey, who was also black like us, treated us terribly. When we first sat down it took him like 15 mins to get us drinks or any water at all, all he first provided was bread. My uncle and I had to yell the him down because my grandma was literally choking on the bread because they had not given us any water. After receiving our drinks, we waited a long time to even get asked what we would like to order, by that time most of our drinks were done. So when Jeffrey came back to our table all he said was “more”. I thought this was very rude because I didn’t know whether he was referring to bread or drinks, and also I’ve never had a server talk to me like that. He takes our order after FOREVER and refills my grandmothers drink. We waited a little while for our food which was absolutely disgusting. During this time while we were eating Jeffrey NEVER comes back to our table, however he was still in the area talking and conversing with other tables very politely, asking them if they liked their food. There was even a table behind us who asked for water and he was SUPER happy to give it to them, but when we asked he had a slight attitude, which i couldn’t understand because i had not treated him rude and I thanked him every time he had come to our table even thought i could tell he had something against us. Anyways, the food was so disgusting i couldn’t even eat it, I sat in front on the plate looking disgusted, and Jeffrey passed our table multiple times and NEVER asked how our food was up until the VERY end. At that point i was very annoyed and upset he had treated us like this because any restaurant i’ve been too, the servers always check up on us. Also the fact the plate of food was expensive to be so disgusting i couldn’t even eat it. I ordered orange chicken, the chicken had a burn taste to it and some parts of the rice were hard as if it was uncooked. When i finally told our server the food was disgusting, his attitude changed and he seemed a bit nicer, but I was still upset. Jeffrey seemed to be Jamaican and I know Jamaicans and Haitians have problems with each other and I felt as though that’s why he treated us differently because he saw my grandma was Haitian. Mind you he was nicer to the other tables, even having conversations with them about the menu and whatnot. He offered the manager for my food but at that point i really didn’t care because we had been sitting there for so long already so I asked for a dessert to hurry the process along. When he finally comes to give back our bill, he hands me a receipt with no pen or anything and leaves. I wait for a while for him to return but i ended up opting to just pay with the QR code on the receipt and me and my family leave. Upon walking out he runs after us as if we were stealing or something and asks us if we paid… I was highly offended by this because he’s the one that didn’t come back to the table to receive the bill… The only thing good that day were the fries my uncle ordered. Needless to say because of this I will never go back to the cheesecakes factory and I’m still very upset we were treated this way, hence the spelling errors because I’m typing so fast. ALSO the pina colada i ordered wasn’t even blended and there were still huge ice chunks. And the only reason i didn’t complain then and there was because my grandma did not want me to and didn’t want me to “cause a scene” but i definitely had to write a review. You can see i still even tipped him too because I know servers rely on tips to make a living but he did not...
Read moreNot the most stellar visit. Went Sunday early evening and was told a 30 min wait. Not a problem, we sat down and waited and after about 35 our pager went off. We were taken to a booth and the hostess was quite friendly. It took about 10 minutes for our waiter to appear and offered to take our drink orders and food orders and asked if we wanted bread at the table as well. We said yes and about 10 minutes later the bread and the drinks arrived. After about 30 minutes the waiter came by and said he put our entree orders in and was going to check on our appetizer order. He passed by the table about 5 times after that over the course of 10 minutes and never said anything as to the status of the appetizer. It was at this time I flagged a separate waiter down and I asked to speak to a member of management to let them know of our displeasure. About 10 minutes later the waiter comes by and puts the appetizer on the table and says my manager bought this for you, turned around and walked away. Then a woman manager comes by the table and asks what the issue was I explained the 40+ minute wait for an appetizer and we were afraid it was going to be another 40 for our entrees. She assured us she wouldn't let that happen. We told her about what the waiter said and she said hmmm, I'll look into it. A few maybe 4 minutes later We weren't finished with our appetizer and here come the entrees. Entrees that were kind of bland and not remotely worth the money charged for them. VERY disappointed in all aspects. Food, 2 stars. Service, 2 stars, ambience, ehh.. 3 stars maybe.
Funniest part of the evening was how attentive the waiter got after he noticed the manager visiting the table. Prior to manager visit he didn't stop by and drink refills didn't happen. After manager visit he was asking if we needed anything every 5 minutes and asking to refill our glasses when they were still more than half...
