We stayed at the Gulfcoast Inn the week of Thanksgiving 2024 for 3 nights. ||During this time we encountered 4 huge cockroaches in our first room. We killed all of them and reported it to the front desk and they immediately offered a different room. We live in Florida so we know this can happen in the best of homes, but we have only averaged 2 a year. Most of the problem is probably the gaps in both rooms' bottom and sides of the doors that allow these bugs and probably small rodents into the room. I am not kidding about the gaps in the door frames. ||Now, I would have expected them to upgrade or even give us a comparable room. Understand, this was still morning and I offered to wait until later in the day when we returned from the beach to change rooms, but they called me and wanted me to change immediately. We were given a room that was not upgraded and was not comparable to the room we had. ||I was tired and thought we just needed to settle in and accept this. Big mistake. People were outside our room, at the pool area, until midnight. Loud talking, children playing and screaming, and no control from the motel. ||Other concerns:|Water pressure from the bathroom faucet is non-existent|The shower drain was so slow it almost overflowed into the bathroom||We go to Naples often as we still have friends in Naples and we usually like to stay at one of the chains but thought maybe we should start supporting family-run businesses. We don’t think that way anymore even though: ||Nice people at the desk and continental breakfast||Exceptional continental breakfast host. She was one of the best I’ve ever had to take care of me ||Nice pool and tiki bar/restaurant ||Good deal from Hotels.com ||I understand you get what you pay for but we are not used to places in the middle of the city that can’t take care of the...

Read moreThis place caters to locals and could care less about the hotel guest. The hotel clerk (Emily) and Manager (J.J) are very rude and disrespectful. My 10 yr. old is disabled and confined to a wheelchair chair. We were told on the phone that they would accommodate a support dogs. When we arrived we waited 15 min. while we searched for a clerk to check us in. We disclosed about the dog and checked into our room. The next morning the front desk clerk, Emily, called and stated that we had to provide service papers for the dog, or pay $150 fee. We provided papers and were told that they didn't accommodate emotional support dogs and added the $150 charge to our room. The manger, J.J. refused to speak with me so I could explain the misunderstanding. Trying not to spoil the weekend, we asked Emily to open the handicap lift. She called someone on the radio and my child and I waited 30min. by the pool. When no one showed to open the lift. I was able to help my child in the pool, but still needed the lift to get her out. I returned to the front desk again and asked Emily to have someone open the lift. She called again on the radio and said someone would be there shortly. We swam for 2-hrs., but no one came to meet us. I went back inside and spoke to the manager, J.J., who informed me that the lift hadn't worked in months. When I explained my frustration, he told me that it was my problem. When we asked for a refund so we could find a hotel with a pool lift, they refused. I have called 3x to speak with the owner, Joseph Dununsio, but he has not returned my calls. We will NOT BE RETURNING...
