China Wok — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

TLDR: I ate actual plastic.

If you're near this stripmall, I strongly recommend either the the Greek or Mexican places, respectively Gyro & Philly Steak and Las Fajitas. After eating previously at these, China Wok was extra, extra disappointing.

Back to the plastic: I found burned black plastic in my food after I'd already eaten a portion. (I should have said something but was tired, so we just left.) It had tasted off but I kept eating until I realised that what I was tasting was the infusion of plastic into my sesame chicken and fried rice. (Later I settled on Play-Doh–it tasted how Play-doh smells, for future reference.) There were several other disappointments: order wasn't served as pictured—with broccoli instead of rice (first point where I should have spoke up). My husband's order of the same tasted gamey (but no plastic). Both servings of chicken were mostly breading. Further service was nonexistant after recieving food. Went in with a friend on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in the evening. I ordered my usual Sesame Chicken, Shrimp fried rice, and Egg Drop soup. For some reason, they made the sesame chicken, but added the sesame at last minute. You're supposed to add that when cooking the chicken into the sauce.

My shrimp fried rice turned out to be Lo Mein Noodles. Seriously, I don't how you can screw that up. Oh, and my egg drop soup, I don't know if it was made correctly, but I got sick after.

No. 1 Chinese was way better than China Wok at this location. They never once messed up my orders when I walked in. I will be requesting my money back as I was not satisfied, and this location has also lost my business.

Whoever said this food was amazing has clearly never eaten food before. We ordered takeout from here tonight. When we got home the bottom of the bag was covered in grease. The broccoli in garlic sauce was actually broccoli in oil and it had leaked all over the bag. Literally, the broccoli was swimming in oil. I tried to eat a piece and it tasted like rancid oil. My husband ordered egg foo young and when we got home we discovered they gave him fried rice instead. He tried it and said it had zero flavor. Egg rolls were also bland and not hot.
