I have been a loyal customer of Cinco's for many many years. After they opened the location in Old Hickory I decided to start going there because of the patio. A few months ago 2 of my friends & I went to enjoy their awesome food & Margaritas. We were waiting for a while for the server to come back and we asked a server walking by if he could get our server..this server spoke in spanish and we heard the word "puntas". We confronted the man and he apologized, the manager (he wears glasses" he did nothing about it. I still went there after that issue, and the past 5 times my husband & I have went we have sat on the patio. EVERYTIME...we sit there for 10 mins waiting on the server to acknowledge our existence, he would approach tables that were sat after us..we ignoresd it the first few times, and still gave them another chance. We went last night, sat on the patio our son asked the lady who brought the chips & salsa to us for cheese dip...we keep sitting and sitting the SAME server who works the patio looked at us, never came over to take our drink orders and went to get an order of a table who sat after us. He then brings the cheese dip and walks off, going up to another table..never asking us for drinks or anything. We got up and left, the manager said "where are you going myf riends" I was very nice and told him the service is horrible here now and we were ignored for over 10 mins. We then went to Los Compadres in Mt. Juliet and had WONDERFUL service, the tables ont heir patio were sturdy and stable...wait staff was very nice. I am very disappointed in the service at Cinco in Old Hickory, I will not be back after being a customer of theirs for...
Read moreDO NOT waste your time or money at Cinco De Mayo Mexican Restaurant at 5770 Old Hickory Blvd, Hermitage, TN 37076 unless you enjoy being ignored and disrespected. I walked in to place a to-go order, and the first guy automatically assumed I was there for pickup. I corrected him, and he sent me to another register. The woman there asked me the same damn question. Then the manager comes out and--surprise--asks me AGAIN if I'm picking up. How many times do I have to say the same thing before these clueless employees get it through their heads?
Then the real insult happened. The manager told me he'd be right back to take my order, walked off, and when he finally came back, instead of acknowledging me--like any decent employee would--he completely ignored me and jumped straight to the customer behind me. No, "Let me take care of this customer first," no, "Are you ready to order?"--nothing. I was literally standing there at the register, looking at the menu, waiting for him, and he acted like I didn't even exist. It's the worst feeling ever.
So, I looked him straight in the eye and told him, "Thank you for acknowledging me. I'm taking my money somewhere else. You have a great day." Because clearly, my business isn't valued here.
This isn't even the first time they've pulled this. A few years ago, they messed up my order, but I stupidly decided to give them another chance. Big mistake. Nothing has changed. My money isn't "green enough" for them, but trust me, plenty of other places will be happy to take it.
Save yourself the frustration and spend your money somewhere that actually respects all of its customers--not just the ones...

I was in the mood for 2 Chile Rellenos plate but could only find it as 1 Chile/taco/enchilada. Server said no problem! I'll substitute the taco and enchilada & give you 2 Chiles, since they are about the same price a la carte (AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE!!)
Wife ordered carnitas (pork) w/ rice and beans plate.
When she brought out our food, the server let me know they couldn't substitute next time. Owners- WHY? I simply ordered something you already cook- and the substitution was even $0.30-$0.40 cents off in your favor as far as value !! Why have a server tell a customer you won't do... anything? This is 2019 & you aren't a 5 star restaurant with a set menu.
That's ok 15 million other places will be happy to serve me a proper Chile Rellenos plate :)
About the Chile Rellenos- they are supposed to be filled, then coated in egg and fried. And the meat should be seasoned. I got a split poblano pepper with a chunk of cheese inside, and another with a scoop of plain, bland ground beef- folded over with cheese sprinkled on top coated with plain red salsa- awful. At least the pepper skin was removed. This was a $6 plate at best- not $10. You should at least rename this dish stuffed peppers.
The beans were terrible too. Zero seasoning. Rice left much to be desired as well.
All these raves about "authentic" great tasting food- I feel sorry for you; clearly you have very low expectations & have been sheltered. I wish I could take you all to any number of places in Texas for some...
