Waffle House — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

Waffle House is, by far, my favorite greasy spoon in America. My friends and I joke about how, when you first walk into any given Waffle House it feels like your entire body is then covered with a thin layer of butter. Lol. But, of course, we are just joking when we say that. I love how straight-to-the-point their menu is. I also appreciate that the menu has pictures of a lot of the food. It's wonderful that they serve breakfast all the time and also that, I think most of them, are open 24 hours a day. I grew up in Philadelphia where there are a lot of Jewish and Italian delis that are 24 hours, and now I live in Nashville where Waffle House is basically the only Diner-esque restaurant that is 24 hours a day. It's a great place to go after you've been drinking and want to sober up a bit. It's also a great place to meet a friend for coffee or lunch. But I like it most for breakfast...for dinner. And I've never been to a Waffle House where, and I've been to Waffle Houses in many different states, where the staff wasn't nice and friendly. It's also nice that you can see them cooking your food so you know that nothing unethical or gross is happening. I gave Waffle House only four stars instead of five because it is extremely unhealthy. But, who would want Waffle House to start serving vegetables...

Being a Native from the East Nashville Community, having been here for 28 years of my life never have I witnessed 1950s rasicm in Nashville being alive still today. At 6am on Feb. 18. 2023 I went to a Waffle House off Sidco Dr. to order breakfast to go. Once I went in I was greeted with not so friendly faces with in the Restaurant seeing that it was all Whites in the restaurant. However I ordered there before and it hasn't been a problem but now I was ignored at the cash register as they keep attending to their white customers for about 15mins...then a White guy in cowboy attire in his late 20s or early 30s came up to me hand shakes my hand in a way that infers I prefer a black handshake...once grabbing my hand he tighten with aggression and tells me all these old folk in there are funny...and he asks what was I waiting for and I told him service, he gets the waitress attention for me but she just looks at me and goes to service someone else. So I just walk out being in a hostile environment it was best just get out and report it. Like I said in all my years of being hear never have witnessed such antisemitism...

This location is getting 1 stars because of tampering with Tip Money. Me & my wife came in Saturday night/Sunday Morning ( February 18/19 ), to get some food before heading home. The only time I leave a tip is when I dine-in, but this wasn’t the case this time just a simple grab & go. My total was $24.00 & some change. Well today ( February 20 ) on my Cash App Card, I just got a update saying my total came to $29.60. It only update when you leave tips. So I don’t know who’s processing the tickets but somebody is adding in extra tip money & I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one who got hit with an update. Besides this crazy mess, the food was great once I got home, but people complaining about a mouse running threw the building, yes that’s right a mouse was running threw there once I came out from the bathroom once we had gotten there. My wife & other people who were dining-in was making comments about it as I was walking back into the room. So this was my experience, hopefully nobody else goes...
