The first time we experienced this chain was, strangely enough, not in the million or so (or at least it seems that way) located in SoCal, but in our adopted hometown Nashville.
There are at least three, perhaps more, of this excellent Mexican Ice Cream and treats eatery in Middle TN.
A recent visit to one during a particularly nasty winter day reinforced to my wife and I why this is such a great place. In contrast to the dreary environment outside, the store was brightly decorated with lots of festive lights and pictures. The showcase of various ice creams, paletas (popsicles), and various other mexican frozen and unfrozen treats was bedazzling.
We ended up ordering the same treat, I with a large mix of guava and mango ice creams and she with a much smaller version. Both were delicious and just the right touch even in what felt like the dead of winter (at least for the South) outside.
In my mind, the unique value of Mexican frozen treats is the sheer volume of flavor combinations covered in their offerings - everything from standard flavors (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry) to exotic fruits (guava, charamoya, mango) and even flavors which might not sound appetizing at first but actually taste pretty good or at least not bad (tequila, queso cheese, horchata). With so many combos, It's unlikely that our belt lines (or wallets) could withstand us trying every flavor in the place. This is not to say we won't try.
We'll be back for sure to try more as we head closer to the summer in the upcoming...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited your Antioch location and I must say I am so disappointed by the way I was treated by one of your employees. I waited patiently to be served for over 10 minutes which was fine. Another family walked in behind me and waited about 3 minutes.
When it was time for the next customer to be served, your employee purposely skipped over me and told the family behind me to come up to be served. That's just rude! Thereās no possible way she didnāt see me as I was standing in front of the other family and direct view of ānext customer.ā It was obvious she didnāt want to help me by her gesture.
I told the worker I was next and she motioned her head to ask another worker for help š That was very frustrating . Even if she didnāt speak English, she could have at least put up a finger⦠as in one moment. She even got an attitude when I informed her that I would appreciate if she helps me instead of waiting on the other employee to assist. (Other employee was helping another customer) This isnāt my first rodeo with this particular employee either⦠Using the excuse of not speaking English does not give you the right to mistreat customers. Iām almost positive on the reason on why she didnāt want to assist me⦠Sometimes we have to assist people who are different, even if youāre not too keen of them.
Having visited your establishment on several occasions, I was surprised by this experience. The visit in question took place on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been to this place 3 times and have been disappointed each time. The first time I went, they told me the line started on the complete opposite end of the store. I just left.
The second time I went, the line started on some other part of the store but at least, after 39 minutes...I got ice cream.
This latest time was completely unacceptable. It's clear that the ice cream in the containers melt a bit on top. That's fine and understandable. But instead of scooping deeper INTO the container and scooping the part of the ice cream that is STILL FROZEN, they scooped up the MELTED ice cream goo from the top and poured into a cone. This is a picture of the ice cream 45 seconds after leaving. By time I walked to my car, it was dripping down my fingers.
This really just isn't how ice cream should be served. The ice cream is great, after an hour in my own freezer it will be fine. But I wouldn't...
