The dude was rude. Completely rude, he rushed me off the phone TWICE!!! When I called the first time to place my order he put me on hold for a minute and when I was took off hold he hurriedly took my order and rushed me off the phone. I wanted to add on to the order so I called back for the second time and he put me on hold again for 3 minutes—no problem. I told the man that I wanted jollof, plantains and tilapia. He told me they didn’t have tilapia just fish as a side and I told him that’s fine. He asked me just one side of fish and I told him yes and I also asked him how big and how much the fish was and he said it’s very small and it’s $3 so I told him to add another fish ( he never did). Fast forward when I finally got there I went up, paid and left to go to my car. I got in my car and checked the bags to make sure I had everything I paid for—nope. I was missing the jollof. I was so angry about that because I paid $75 for the food ( plus tip) so there’s no way the jollof wasn’t added. I go back up and I tell the man that I’m missing the jollof. He said sorry he didn’t hear that I ordered the jollof. MIND YOU HE WAS RUSHING ME OFF THE PHONE AND HAD AN ATTITUDE. I told the man that he never got my jollof because he had an attitude and was rushing me off the phone. Of course he said “ sorry I didn’t know I had an attitude”. Yes you did. Anyways I had to pay an extra $12 on top of the $75 because the man had an attitude so badly that he didn’t add my jollof. ( And jollof was the FIRST thing I ordered). And don’t get me started on the food. I ordered the bitter leaf soup—more like salt soup. It was super salty, it gave me heartburn really bad. It wasn’t like the bitter leaf I had there before. I don’t know if they changed cooks back there or what but it was awful. Everything else was alright. This place is a 2/10 I really don’t recommend. The service is horrible and them being Africans don’t make it any better. I’ve been there about three times already and each time the person there has an attitude. Whether it’s a women or man. The only reason I went here again was because I was craving some African food really bad and there’s no other African food spot in Nashville. If anyone knows a BETTER place than this one please Feel free to share. Anyways I hope everyone reading this has a...

i was told to come here by my nigerian friend and i was HIGHLY disappointed. i got the egusi with goat meat and fufu. my partner got the jollof rice with chicken. she was going to get goat because the woman who took our order said she eats her jollof rice with goat but i am glad she didn’t get the goat because the goat was the toughest meat i have ever had in my life. not sure if it was leftover from another day or just overcooked but i know goat meat isn’t supposed to be that tough as i have had egusi with goat meat before. my partner couldn’t even eat her chicken. it was tough also and dry. the food was not edible. the egusi had a foul taste and the jollof rice was subpar. this meal was not good at all. it’s a shame that this is one of the only west african restaurants in the area and it isn’t worth it. also, the atmosphere is peculiar. we walked into the grocery market on the first floor and we were not greeted kindly but kind of weirdly led upstairs to the restaurant área where there were over 5 men at a table talking loudly at what seemed to be a bar. the woman who took our order was very dry and you could tell she didn’t want us to eat there in the establishment. i literally couldn’t even eat my egusi with goat meat because it was so TOUGH. i definitely recommend getting food elsewhere. the malt drinks were the only thing that was good. this isn’t the...

I would like to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for Eko Restaurant. From my very first visit, it became evident that this establishment stands out as the premier destination for authentic Nigerian cuisine. The flavors, the presentation, and the overall dining experience are simply exceptional.

In particular, I want to highlight the vegetable soup, which has consistently exceeded my expectations. It is a dish that truly captures the essence of Nigerian cooking, and I find myself returning time and again for this exquisite delight.

The staff at Eko Restaurant are equally commendable. Always attentive and dedicated to ensuring a memorable experience for every patron. It is clear that they have a passion for what they do, and it resonates in every aspect of the restaurant.

Thank you, Eko Restaurant, for your remarkable contributions to our local...

I was brought here by a friend who had previously been. She knew what she wanted before we got there and I quickly decided on the jollof and goat. Everything was fantastic and fresh. My only minor complaint was the goat was mostly bone. It was plenty of food, and the focus is on the jollof. I added a side of hot sauce and it mixed perfectly with my meal. It wasn’t too spicy but it was a solid heat. I liked her food better (they always know what to get) and it was fun to eat as well. Her meal was designed to be eaten with your hands and the dough/bread as a barrier and way to transport this delicious food to your mouth. It’s a fantastic meal in a low key spot .

I come here at least twice a month, and every single time it’s an amazing experience. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and authentic. Eko truly knows how to deliver on taste. I usually order the Egusi and Efo, and they never disappoint; the portions are generous and seasoned to perfection. Beyond the food, the customer service is consistently warm, attentive, and welcoming, which makes the entire visit feel even better. Eko isn’t just a restaurant.. it’s a whole vibe. On Sunday nights especially, the atmosphere is lively and full of energy, making it the perfect spot to eat, socialize, and enjoy good company.
