I had a horrible experience at the McDonald's on Old Hickory Blvd in Hermitage. I sat for 20 minutes before it was my turn to order which is fine cause it was busy and I do not mind waiting as long as my food ends up hot fresh and correct. I would have wanted an hour the wait is not what made my experience horrible. So I order my food at the speaker and I'm hearing impaired so I did not understand exactly what the person taking my order said back to me. I get to the window to pay and get my food and am asked what I ordered and tell the worker and they say my order was not entered into the computer system somehow. That would also have been fine If they would have been willing to take my order then but the male at the drive thru told me I would have to get back in the line and have my order taken again at the speaker and I refused. He got into a screaming match with me infront of my two young sons both under the age of five telling me it was impossible for him to put my order in at the window which is ridiculous and totally not true. He acted like I somehow skipped everyone and never placed an order. I refused to go wait another 20 minutes to get my order taken when I sat in line already and waited for my turn. IT WAS MY TURN AND IN NOT GOING TO THE BACK OF THE BUS. I told him it is my turn and I was refusing to wait again I would leave first. A lady walked up and I'm assuming she was the manager because she was dressed differently and I explained the situation and she immediately without a word took my order and payment and he actually went and bagged my food which I hope he did not do anything to because it was just a ten piece nugget and fries for my kids to split. He was mad asking her why she was allowing me to order at the window and saying it in front of me and everyone else which was very embarrassing. People should not be talked about at a restaurant where they are spending their hard earned money which pays his bills like I was beneath him. I am also hearing impaired which I did not mention because the worker immediately started yelling at me like I was in someway trying to break rules by ordering at the window while everyone else had to use the speaker. I just want him to know he was rude and horrible to me and made my day bad for no reason. My children were also upset by the situation and did not understand what was going on. Thank you to the woman who took my order and BTW I know I should go order in the lobby because I'm hearing impaired but their lobby is under construction or I would have went in to place my order. I will probably go back because it is close to my house and convenient but I'm going to...
Read moreThis McDonald's is consistently bad, and it has been for the past 5 years or so. Long wait times for small orders are normal, long waits at the drive through are normal, very slow workers inside are normal. The only thing that keeps this location going is because it's right off the interstate and attached to a gas station. Guaranteed I could do a better job running this, and given the opportunity, I'd triple revenue. I live close and routinely drive to other McDonald's farther away because it is quicker, more convenient, and less of a headache. Visit at your own risk.
UPDATE - March 30, 2024 Against my better judgment, I tried this place out again (2 years after leaving the above 1 star review). Everyone deserves a second chance. I drove through for breakfast and got a small black coffee and a steak bagel. Simple enough. My coffee had a slow leak in it that caused every drop to leak out all over me, my car, and my cup holders by the time I reached my destination. The bagel I got was not heated, cheese not melted, was not good at all. I revisited after my meeting to request a refund. To my surprise, I instead received an argument with the Manager who refused my refund, suggested I was lying about the leak in the coffee cup, and continued to interrupt my explanations so she could justify why I would not be refunded. I eventually spoke to the General Manager, who was much kinder and understanding, who listened to what happened, and who processed my refund. But it shouldn't have come to that. I gave this place a chance, knowing how terrible the service had been in the past, but hoping that I could replace my prior bad experiences with a better outcome. It's one thing to make a mistake. It's another thing to deny your mistake and call a customer a liar. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... fool me can't get fooled again. There will be no third chance. I've paid for bad food, and I've paid for bad service. I refuse to pay for both at the same place and at the same...
Read moreIf you are the type that just wants to walk in order, pay, get your food and go, with awkward silence, no over the top smiles, no idle chat, no pre-practiced and required lines (happy to serve you, thank you, enjoy your meal... Etc) no promotional up saling, suggestive saling, offers or deal reminders... Then this is the place for you. Rating for food is a 5 generally fresh, hot, made right and fast. The rating for cleanliness a 5, the boring dining room decor is new and odd in comparison to the normal McDonald's dining rooms that are welcoming, comfortable, family friendly, promotes eating in groups and alone, the design chosen for this store is really lacking in every category. But it's clean and easy to move around, BUT I wouldn't recommend planning to stay seated long as the hard benches and chairs cause body pains in a short period of time! The restrooms are clean and well stocked every time I've visited this store and the kitchen seams to be the same although visibility is limited. Meal accuracy is also top notch. Really the only downside happens to be a huge one in my opinion and that's that it lacks any excitement at all. The employees are young n smiles are few and far between. There is none of the usual small talk or happy idle chatting at all. There's no thank you or come again. No enjoy your meal or even can I get you anything else. They definitely lack the familiar McDonald's cheer most are used to and enjoy. Which makes it uncomfortable...
