Nations Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

Stopped in here about 730pm after going to the Texas/Candy game. Read other reviews and decided it would be a good spot to try. When we walked in, was not expecting what we came into from reviews. It is more of a dive bar vibe. We had to ask about eating and sitting. The bar tender was very nice and quick to help us. She seemed as if she was doing everything. Got us drinks very quickly. The menu is small but has good selection. We had Rueben, bacon wrapped smoked wings and burgers. The Rueben was good and not greasy. It wasn’t overly stuffed and very good. The bacon wrapped smoked wings were not my style but everyone else loved them. If you like smoked items these are a must. The burger is marked as award winning. Late night visit, very few patrons - first time in. No greeting. No acknowledgement. Sat at the bar with a friend and waited. And waited. Finally acknowledged by someone who told us that someone else would help us. Eventually, he did. I ordered to go, clearly our presence was unwanted. A quick food order and a shot. We were not spoken to again until I was handed my to go. Got back to our group only to find that my order of funnel fries was so small it was less than a snack. Our group chose a bigger more expensive upscale place directly across the street. They were treated respectfully. They were served kindly and all left completely stuffed. Sitting in the bar you smell cigarette smoke, despite the no smoking signs everywhere. We went out to the patio and people smoke openly! The cause of the cigarette stink inside the bar is the garage door opened from the patio into the bar. There are MANY NO SMOKING SIGNS, yet staff does NOTHING about it. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I'd been here before and forgot about the issues. I won't return. I understand the desire and even the need to smoke. That is a personal choice. That personal choice should NOT CAUSE OTHERS HARM! Before the smokers harp about the griping non smokers. I have a genetic disorder that predisposes me to lung harm when exposed to first or secondhand smoke. I am not alone.
