My check in experience did not go as smoothly as it should have . I called earlier & was assured by a pleasant male representative that I could check in early. I was pleased that I also confirmed that there was no fee for early check in. When I arrived hours later, Kyle who was at the front desk was adamant that I did not speak to anyone at that location. He said that he was the only clerk there all morning & he didn’t have a conversation with me. I took my phone out as proof of my call to that location. He THEN looked into the computer, or looked further & saw notes left by the clerk whom I’d spoken with earlier. He then advised me of $100 + fee for early checkin. I told him that I was assured there would NOT be an early check in fee! He said okay,if that’s what you were told we won’t charge a fee. He seemed disappointed!
After going to the assigned room , I saw immediately before opening the door that there were gaping spaces that prevented the door from being sealed securely. I brought it to Kyles attention & requested another room. I was relieved that I was given another room without delay, since Kyle suggested that I may have to wait to switch rooms. Instead of suggesting that he was “rude” , I will give him grace and just say that he was somewhat unpleasant, and caused us to question if we were welcomed there.
I liked the room overall. It appeared to be renovated, it was a nice size and had modern attractive wall decor. The King size bed was huge and quite comfortable! The downside was that there was no hallway light just as you enter the dark room at night. ( I kept forgetting to just a leave another light on while away) It was surprising & weird that there were no standard racks in the bathroom to hang towels & washcloths after use! My room also didn’t have an ironing board so I had to use the bed, as my (not so flat) ironing surface. Although no hot food variety throughout the week, or turkey sausage options, ( for my husband) I was satisfied with my delicious waffle each morning.
The last day of our stay I was pleasantly surprised to hear a food service worker, in an upbeat & friendly tone, ask my husband and I, as well as other guest, if everything was good! 👏🏼👏🏼
The other front desk clerks were visible at times, but still absent as it relates to hospitality. I’m just not accustomed to clerks not greeting us, or at the least offering a pleasant smile. There were however a number of positives about the hotel although the location & scenery wasn’t good. I did appreciate Waffle House being within walking distance, hotel is only 14 minutes from downtown ,clean spacious room, hot breakfast , 24 hour coffee station & fairly reasonable price included) but front desk staff completely failed to make my husband & I feel like valued guests. I hope there will be immediate attention & training in regards to this...
Read moreOk, let me start by saying 2 things... 1st, THIS IS NOT FOR THE ACTUAL HOTEL, BUT FOR THE 800 PHONE NUMBER FOR RESERVATIONS!! 2nd. It should be ZERO stars!!!
When I looked up the phone number to call this hotel, I got directly to this hotel. I spoke with an amazingly nice person who suggested that I try an online booking agent for a better deal. I was not able to find the size room I was looking for, I called the same number back, but evidently ended up being connected to the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT I HAVE EVER SPOKEN WITH!!! I explained that I had just spoken with someone else, was not able to find the size room that I was looking for, & that I would like to go ahead & make a reservation with her for that particular size room. This rude, short, person told me that I could no longer make that reservation since it was already booked. I told her that I just hung up with the previous person barely 5 minutes ago! Her response... yes, well we book 300 rooms per every 5 minutes, so that room is booked. If you want a room, then you will just have to pay the higher price for a suite. I did not need, or want, a suite!! I only needed a bed to crash in for the night!! When I asked if they offered a military discount she said no. I begrudgingly made the reservation. Upon arrival at the hotel, I did not go in stating I had a reservation, I went in asking if they had a room available that was not a suite & a king size bed, "yes, we do. Would you like me to go ahead with a "reservation?" I proceeded to explain what had happened with my phone call, & asked if I could switch my room. Unfortunately, I could not since the reservation was already made & confirmed through the 800 number. Then I asked if they offered a military discount... YES!!!! So not only did this person lie to me, but she also was EXTREMELY RUDE, continuously interrupted me, & just all in all a very not nice person!!
If you need to make a reservation for ANY Comfort Inn, call the hotel... NOT THE 800...
Read moreFirst off let me say I am so glad that I didn't bring anyone with me for multiple reasons mentioned below. One of the worst hotels I have stayed in because soon as I got there I seen Papa Roach in my room. I go down to the front desk and ask for another room... all they did was send housekeeping to kill it... seriously smh. Second I took a nap soon as I got there after plugging in my phone to charge...a couple hours later I woke up to a dead phone because there's only one wall socket by the bed that's functional (the bottom). The top socket had no power, so I used the bottom one to keep their lamp plugged in which has two plugs, I was thinking well I'll just use the two that the lamp has...NOPE...only one socket works in the lamp . So even though there's a total of 4 plug-ins by the night stand...Only able to use 1 -_- (the look on my face) ... . So immediately I ask the front desk again, can I get another room due to the inconvenience ? This is what I was told verbatim " All OF THE ROOMS ARE LIKE THAT"...Woah..like what. At least she was being honest but umm maybe you shouldn't tell your guest something like that. There is literally only one FUNCTIONAL wall socket in the whole room close to the bed and it's behind the night stand. The only other wall socket in the room is behind the TV across the room! -- The one behind the night stand by the bed as already mentioned the top plug-in does not work. The lamp only one plug in works but I used the wall plug in for the lamp, so technically there's only 1 functional plug-in by the bed out of 4 total. I am not making this up, just truly amazed at the level of customer service. Guess I may take a shot in the dark with their breakfast in the morning. Be wary about this place, only good thing is there's...
