So usually I would give this place at a 4 star. Last night I dropped by after an extremely long and exhausting day at work. I ordered my usual. Salmon ceasar salad and chicken tenders with fries. When I received the food The chicken tenders looked as if they had been dropped and re fried very soggy very unlike this place in the past. the young lady did ask me if I want them to cook them fresh and I stated yes when she brought the Box back I went home when I got home I realized all they had done was put extra of the same soggy re fried tenders in the Box contacted the manager this morning name Casey and he said he was the one to redrop them but I dropped fresh ones. Those was his words exactly. So did you redrop them or did you fry new ones. mind you I have been to this place several times and got the same thing. he then ask me if I had ever gotten them to go I said yes several times me in my mind thinking what does that matter the food should be the same consistency all the time he stated that they don't travel well I stated I live a skip hop and jump from the restaurant that's never been a problem before. I then ask them if they changed their recipe which could change the make of the tenders and he stated know everything has been the same as the night goes on the grease gets older yes I know this I'm a cook and a caterer but that has nothing to do with the texture if it's crispy at once it should always be crispy old grease just would mean the color which I would get however you should not be cooking in old grease ANY time of the day. needless to say I was very dissatisfied with the food and customer service and will not be returning. Pick wisely I guess this place isn't consistent as I thought it was...
Read moreWe met some out of town family here because they had been once and said it was pretty good...and it was just that, pretty good. We don't get down to Nashville that often but we are always looking for good places to eat when we are here.. Nothing special and certainly not horrible.
We started off with appetizers, ordered the spinach/artichoke dip as well as the chicken nachos. I liked the chicken nachos. The chicken was thinly sliced and the toppings were all good and fresh. The artichoke dip was good, but not something I would get again.
For my meal, I ordered the Black Label Burger with fries. It's put together nicely and the meat was seasoned well, but...like the artichoke dip, not something I would order again.
My wife, and mother in-law, ordered the chicken tenders. While I did not try them, they both said they were really good...crispy outside with tender juicy chicken inside.
Service was less than exemplary. When our appetizers were brought out, we asked for five small plates to share everything and never received them. We weren't asked about refills until our meals came out and then we weren't even asked by our server, we were asked about refills by the lady who brought our food to the table. Shortly after our food was brought out, our server stopped by to check in on us rather haphazardly...as of she wanted an answer, but didn't really care what it was.. When finished, my wife asked for a small to-go box which took way longer to get than it should.
This place of Sam's isn't bad, but it's not a place I would come back to or recommend....
Read moreIt takes a lot for me to make a negative review but today's pricing for a drink at the bar of Sam's Place still has me upset. I wanted to celebrate completing a new songwriting venture in Nashville today. The place, food & staff seem very nice which is why I stopped in for my 1st time. The complaint is overcharging customers 100% of what one ounce of Knob Creek should be in a drink compared to other Nashville spots. I ordered a double Knob Creek whiskey/ginger ale drink. That's typically about $12-$16 in other Nashville bars. My one & done drink tab came to $34?? That's just ridiculous and I hope the management/ownership who prices their alcohol will revaluate what they are charging for everyday bourbon. This was normal Knob Creek by the way, not a special aged one. Gripe over. I hope this helps others about visiting Sam's Place. I really wanted to write a good review which is what...
