I've been on a quest to find the best pizza in Nashville, so once a week I go into a place that serves pizza and simply order a cheese pizza. My thinking is if they can make a BOMB cheese pizza then they have a good pizza. Brace yourselves.
The name of this place is "Scilian Pizza & Pasta" which in the Nashville area its code for "We have drunk food & we're open late" I can see the appeal, but I've been in the pizza business for over a decade and drunk food is not the goal.
The atmosphere was that out of Clerks and full of disappointment. There was a sense of defeat coming from the girl behind the counter. (Not adhering to Covid19 guidelines. No Mask, or even gloves.) She handed me the pizza when it was done and I took a quick glance to inspect it. Yep, that's a cheese pizza alright. $15.99 Price point. I recognized the box from a Postmates order I got a while back, so i was braced to be disappointed. Bamboozled again!
The pizza itself dripped with grease leaving a puddle in the box. I was kinda shocked that the cheese was melted "well done" yet the undercarriage was underdone. These pizza slices were cut small and they were flop city. Don't get me wrong I like floppy slices, but this flop was extreme. The taste was like... well it didn't hardly have a taste at all. Which is surprising because I know what pizza tastes like.
Do I feel scammed or want my money back? No, because I did eat the pizza and this is my once a week. I am however let down that I spent my "treat" on such a subpar pizza.
Are you drunk and need literally anything to stuff your gullet with? Then order from these guys. Do you enjoy good pizza with flavor? Then order elsewhere.
Edit: The whole point of this review is to inform the people of Nashville that there is way better pizza to be had for $15.99. Secondly, Covid19 guidelines weren't being adhered to during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC. Lastly, yes this was about a greasy, flavorless, poor excuse of a cheese pizza. It's the principle of the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Sicilian Pizza Airport, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly and welcoming staff that made me feel right at home.
The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, with a modern touch that complements the delicious food. The menu offers a wide variety of pizzas, and I was particularly impressed by the authentic Sicilian options. I decided to try their signature Sicilian pizza, and it did not disappoint. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a rich and flavorful tomato sauce that brought all the ingredients together beautifully. In addition to the pizza, I also tried their garlic bread and a fresh salad. Both were excellent and complemented the main dish perfectly. The garlic bread was buttery and garlicky, with just the right amount of crunch. The salad was fresh, crisp, and dressed with a delicious vinaigrette.
Service was impeccable throughout my visit. The staff was attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was enjoyable. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations.
Overall, Sicilian Pizza Airport exceeded my expectations. The combination of delicious food, friendly service, and a pleasant atmosphere makes it a must-visit for any pizza lover. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone...
Read moreThis place was recommended by the hotel. I went online and saw they had eggplant and decided to bypass all the places surrounding us, Shoney's, Wendy's, McDonalds, KFC, Waffle House, Taco Bell & Panera. My husband got the Cheese Manicotti and he loved it. we also got the Calzone Style Cheese Bread and it was yummy. Now for me... I got the eggplant and although the sauce was good, the eggplant was inedible. So tough the plastic fork wouldn't even stick in it, felt like chewing on rubber. So for $9.99 I feel like I got an expensive serving of disappointment. I read the reviews here and saw that the owner asked for them to have the opportunity to right the situation before posting a poor review. So I called and spoke to a gentleman at the Donaldson store and after explaining the sauce was good but the eggplant was too rubbery to spear with the fork much less chew, I was then given an in depth explanation of how the eggplant was frozen and they had a hard time determining how much time to heat it so that it wouldn't burn etc. etc and would I like them to remake it. After listening to that I told the guy No thanks after your explanation I am pretty sure its not going to get any better so how about just refunding the $9.99 to my card? I was told oh no that wasn't how he could fix it. So I told him no thanks and decided a poor review was most definitely earned in this case. Kinda wished I went to...
