If I could give more stars, I would!!!
I’ve been in Nashville for the past couple weeks for work, and Sid’s quickly became my favorite staple in the city. I genuinely don’t think there’s another place quite like it.
While Broadway downtown is oversaturated and surprisingly still pretty yeehaw (small town, small mind vibes), Sid Gold’s—tucked away on the east side—is a breath of fresh air. It’s intimate, welcoming, and infused with a rare sense of community and camaraderie. From the moment I stepped in, I felt like part of something.
They host live piano karaoke every night (except Tuesdays when they’re closed), where some of the most talented piano players can play just about any song you request. You get up, sing your heart out to a stripped-down version of your favorite tune, and the crowd cheers you on like you’re a star. It’s such a supportive and electric environment, even if you come alone—you’ll leave with a dozen new friends.
I went about ten times during my two-week stay, and every time, I felt more and more at home. The people who run the place knew me by name, remembered some of my favorite songs, and created a space where I could just be myself. It’s the kind of place where relationships are built.
Leaving was bittersweet. I’m hopeful I’ll be back soon, but until then, I’ll carry the memories (and the new friendships) with me. Sid Gold’s isn’t just a bar. It’s a vibe. It’s a community. It’s a home for anyone who walks...
Read moreRecently came here to celebrate a birthday and was really impressed. The cocktails are the thoughtfully crafted and very reasonably priced (it's not Attaboy and it's not trying to be) and of the 6 different drinks my party ordered, all of them were top notch. Our server was knowledgable and helpful and did a great job of making our small celebration feel momentous and special. Our piano player / song leader / host did a wonderful job of keeping the room actively engaged, which had the wonderful effect of feeling like the entire room was truly rooting for every singer. We ate before we arrived, so I can't speak for the food, but I'll make it a point to when we next return. The menu is full of whimsy and thankfully looks very reasonably priced (for East Nashville especially). If you just want to sing karaoke, there are lots of options in Nashville. If you want a genuine experience, you'd be hard pressed to find a better option than Sid Gold's. (I'll also so say that mercifully, this place seems to attract a very different crowd than the standard karaoke bars. For us, this was...
Read moreWhat a gem of a place this always is. Been three times now, the most recent being with my mom in town for the first time in a couple years, and every time has been just as fun as the last. Drinks are awesome, service great, and the vibes are off the charts whether you are there for the early, more low-key hours of the night or the later hours when things get a bit raucous.
It's a super supportive atmosphere and if you go up to do a song you instantly want to put in a new request to get back on stage.
Tabitha who did the 7-9 slot is fantastically talented both for her playing and singing, sweet and really charismatic at working the smaller crowd and helping everyone have a great time. Ben who did the later, fully karaoke part of the evening is great with the rowdier crowd and has a real talent for keeping tempo, key, etc. with the singer and helping them out if they stumble/get lost.
I will definitely keep coming back. Tip your pianist (and...
