I've just had the worst experience at a kroger establishment in my entire life. I have lived in Inglewood East Nashville the last 6 years and use the Kroger located at Greenfield and Gallatin Rd for all of my families grocery needs since I moved here. That being said, my wife and I had an early dinner. So we got hungry for some Ice cream snicker bars so ran up to Kroger at 11pm. Something we do from time to time frequently with no incident. When we get to check out, the only lane open for check out is the self checkout, with a line no fewer than 18 people deep. The entirety of the crowd was grumbling and obviously upset. After a good bit of time. I spoke up and asked the attendant if there was anyone else working. She responded "obviously not" and blew me off. At this point the nice woman in front of me said to her husband and myself, "He said what we were all thinking." At this point I asked the attendant to speak to a manager. She simply rolled her eyes and went back to looking at her data pad. After a good little bit I again asked for a manager, she snapped that she had called him. I asked what his name was and she said "Heel." At no point does the attendant come within 15 feet of me or I her. Finally a lane opens and my wife and I begin to ring up our items. Out of nowhere, Store manager DAVID HILL, comes up behind me with a security guard and demands "Why are you yelling at my cashier?" I responded that I was not yelling at her but only asked her why there is a line this long and not a single person working? He simply says, with a tobacco chew in his mouth, "yea, and?" I was simply blown away at his hostility, lack of concern, and dismissive attitude. But again explained that I was just wanted to know why customers were not being taken care of. To this he tells me to cancel my purchase and leave his store. Knowing that I had done nothing wrong, I disregarded it and finished my transaction while asking him who his supervisor was. He responded, I am the only supervisor. I asked him if he owns this Kroger and he said no but i could call a number. I asked to borrow his pen to write it down and he said "you can find your own." And walked away. I have never had such a horrible experience at a grocery store or by management at any location in my life. I am a business owner of a long established Nashville business and I would die before any of my employees treated one of my customers with so much disrespect and hostility. I love Kroger and I love shopping there because the staff is usually so helpful, but this event seriously upset my wife and I both to the point I don't know if we will come back. I truly hope Kroger handles this situation...
Read moreWhile I think the customer service in this store has greatly improved in the last couple of years, (today I got through check out with NO waiting.) The recent re-organization of the store, makes it very difficult if impossible to find the healthy organic products I love without searching up and down every isle. They used to be confined to two convenience isles. Now they are sprinkled about the whole store. When you do find the place where they are supposed to be, the shelf is empty or the product choices have been greatly reduced. There is NO signage such as they have at Public’s, where they have a “Green Wise” signings in each isle so you can find your favorite healthy items close to comparable although maybe less healthy versions (Which is nice because you can decide if it is worth it to pay more for the organic version. Today I was looking for Ezekiel Bread in the Freezer section. I finally found it under a sign that said “Vegetables” It appears they no longer carry the tortillas, and the cinnamon swirl version of that product. So my search was in vane. The other thing they do is split up products that should be together. Either all the Salsa should be with the Spanish food or with the chips. The coffee and tea should be on the same isle. I don’t want to spend 30 minutes finding or not finding the three items I came to shop for. It would help if they had some employees in the isles to help you find things. I spent at least five minutes looking for someone in the produce department to tell me that they did not carry the item I needed. I give them three stars for the nice checkout people, and other things is like but they still have a ways to go with this...
Read moreUpdate: We have been shopping at this Kroger for nearly 3 years. I used to love shopping here.(I even gave it a 5 star Google review). But yesterday's experience may have me changing stores and driving 30 minutes to a Publix.
The store was horribly stocked, and I am sympathetic to it being busy, but this was obvious that restock wasn't being done.I understand that all items may not always be in stock but it has progressively gotten worse that items we like not be on the shelves.
The employees have become so lazy and non helpful, it is almost laughable that they are being paid. When we asked an employee of the had anymore of a item that was on the pick 6 save 3 sale, he said no, without even turning his head to look around. Just after checking out we found a huge display of the item about 20 feet from where we spoke with the employee. When checking out during an obviously busy time we had 5 employees standing around talking about gossip. No one was paying attention to anything they were doing, causing produce we purchased to be bruised and break free from the containers, folding products to get them in our bags, and playing on their cell phones as if we weren't standing right there.
It really appears that the QC in the store has gone so far down that I don't think I can continue to shop here.
Previous review: This Kroger is great. We always enjoy how clean and friendly...
