When you combine a lack of common sense, a customer last attitude, mediocre beer and good pizza, what you get is Fleeting Heart Brewing.
As part of a routine of supporting local breweries when we travel to a new town we visited this brewery and brought along our 75 year old parents ! We were greeted by our waitress and we began by ordering some pizza and flights to try the beers available. The waitress took our order and asked to see my 75 year old fathers ID. We all laughed and he took it as a sweet gesture. Then the waitress said "well I'm sorry but your ID expired last week and we can't serve you". Again we all laughed thinking this was a joke. Indeed the license expired the previous week but surely that wouldn't stop them from serving this obviously 75 year old man? She was serious and proceeded to exclaim that she couldn't serve him and if we ordered brews and he was seen drinking it she would come take them away... immediately we asked to speak with a manager who also stated the same thing.....
To make a long story short, he was very upset but we calmly continued with our meal, paid our bill, left a proper tip, and left, never to return again.
The pizza we had was great, but the beers I had left a lot to be desired. The seltzer my wife had was worthy of being taken back, and we joked we should allow my father to drink it so we could get them to come get it.
Do yourself a favor while in Natchitoches and find a pub downtown instead !!! the beers and the scenic views will be better, the food will be just as good, and like most places we visited besides this one you will be...
Read moreAtmosphere and staff were great. Very clean. We enjoyed the Greek salad, German pretzel, two different pizzas and the seasonal flying waffle a la mode. •German pretzel was great. Served with brown mustard and beer cheese. •Greek salad was good but it was served in a metal bowl with a metal fork. IYKYK. Also was missing the red onions it was suppose to have(in the description). •Had the bbq chicken and a build your own ham and pineapple. •Bbq pizza comes with sliced chicken and was sparse. Also has cilantro and I just feel as though it doesn’t belong with the flavor profiles. •Ham/pineapple pizza w/jalapeños-ham inconsistently cut and was double/triple stacked in some spots. Jalepenos are pickled/not fresh. Slices were semi limp on both.(some people are peculiar) I like to see the sauce and topping go further toward the crust. Felt like a lot of waste here.
•Seasonal flying waffle was very flavorful and the blueberry compote was delicious. Ice cream pairs well. Raspberry drizzle comes with it but is not recommended.
Seems like a critical review but we like to be honest about our experience and the things we find. •Recommend the first two on the craft brew flight list, as the last two are sweet and very floral. Overall food was delicious, and we will be returning. Thanks to Chris...
Read moreThis place is a sleeper, don’t let that outside fool you! Clearly used to be an old stop on the trains and they have converted it into this lovely spacious brewery. Brewing their own seasonal taps and a few guest taps. They do have a full bar as well for the non-beer drinkers in the group. The 6 of Hearts and LA Amber are wonderful! Be careful of the Daywrecker. As the name suggests, it will wreck you day if you’re not careful! This thing sits at 10.1% and doesn’t taste like it. It’ll sneak up on ya! But my goodness is it good and light. I know, things that usually don’t describe a 10% beer. But they have done it.
Pretzel bites were wonderful! Soft and perfectly salted. The mustard is where it’s at. But get booth the beer cheese and mustard if you are sharing. You’ll want it. Pizzas are perfect size to not share if you don’t want to. Good thin, NY crust as promised.
Staff was super friendly and had great suggestions for...
