We experienced multiple issues having lunch at Chowking - National City yesterday. There's hair on rice. The rest of the staff, including the manager, wore hairnets except for the guy scooping rice on every order. While preparing orders, a staff member wearing gloves started touching her shoes and went to the trash can to dig for crumpled tickets. She continued preparing the orders without changing her gloves. I had to point out what I saw and asked her to change her gloves before touching any orders. We were served fridge-cold asado siopao. According to the manager, the heater is not working properly.
Chowking should have refunded customers who ordered asado siopao if the heater was not working correctly instead of serving it cold. The cleanliness in preparing the food is the most concerning aspect. Staff should remember to replace their gloves if they start scratching their head, touching their shoes, going through the trash, or touching anything other than food while wearing gloves.
There's always a chance to improve the service and cleanliness of preparing each order. Chowking management should consider re-training their staff on how to maintain top-quality service...
Read moreStaffs are respectful but the wanton and lauriat needs improvement . Lauriat taste old and the noodles was hard , portion was pretty small too.
Siomai is good, location is convenient and free parking available on site. Store is clean and no long lines. Price is reasonable.
Edit: changing my 3 star to 1 star. Definitely the worst chowking I’ve ever been. Instead of improving they’re getting worst. Ordered online order and I have missing orders two times in a row. How inconvenient. You’d need to check your order 100x before leaving to make sure they’ve got everything but of course not everyone have that luxury of time especially if you’re in a hurry. Curbside pick-up barely works, same as online pick-up they’re most likely to just preparing your order once you’re at the store. It’s not really worth it coming here anymore they don’t even know how to cook CHOWKING FOOD . Probably only come here for their Frozen siomai and siopao and that is. This branch needs better...
Read moreEvery time I come to Chowking the only thing I've bought is a halo-halo, their food looks delicious but I've never tried the food. As soon as I walk in I'm always greated with a, "hello" and a smile. The employees are always kind and courteous, you can tell they love their job and so they do a great job with customer service. Tonight Avi was so awesome in taking my order. Not only did she hear me out on my special request (no beans) she did it all while teaching an employee who was promoted to the register how to enter the order into the register. She's great at multitasking and she had my order ready for me in two shakes of a lambs tail. My halo-halo was the best ever! Avi made it with love (she even put the extra scoop in another cup because it wasn't gonna fit with the top on the cup) it was soo delicious it hit the spot for a hot day. She definitely made my day so much better, before I left I made sure to thank her and tell her she's...
