Good food, absolutely terrible service. This place used to be my family's go-to restaurant for Chinese take-out. I don't know if the employees completely changed around, but the last two experiences in a row were absolutely terrible. They forgot our fried rice the first time (that we paid for) but since it was take-out, we were already home by the time we realized we were missing our rice. We called to let them know but said it was fine that time since we didn't want to have to drive all the way back just for rice. They said they'd write our name down for our next visit so we can get compensated for a fried rice by getting one free with out next order. Come today we called, put in our order, and mentioned how our name was written down and we were told we'd get a free fried rice since we didn't get it last time. We made it a point that we wanted the fried rice for this order. Come time to pick it up, we asked if the rice was there, they said yes, we mistakenly trust them, get home. Low and behold, NO RICE, again. We call, very upset this time, tell them they forgot our rice 2 times in a row. The woman on the phone was extremely rude and said they couldn't have made that same mistake twice and it sounded like a problem on our end accusing us of never ordering/mentioning the rice for each order. We were extremely upset at this point that they were blaming us for their mistakes claiming they couldn't have possibly made them because apparently they are too perfect for that. Then all the woman bluntly said was "sorry" with a clearly annoyed tone and she hung up on us immediately after so we couldn't say anything more. RIDICULOUS and RUDE. Like I said, this place never used to be like this. I don't know what happened. Maybe they're just too popular now. Their quality of service plummeted so they can keep up with the quantity of people they have coming in, but that is no excuse for the type of service we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFantastic . As a bachelor construction worker and caregiver I eat out a lot . Mostly good Mexican food . But since I don't get enough vegetables or portions Royal Mandarin was super for my lifelong girlfriend and I as it's her one day off from work and chores and she was hungry and I'm always hungry and the chicken and vegetables fed us both deliciously . Flavored perfectly , lots of veggies which I love , and a nice bowl of fried rice . The cashier gave us two plates we shared and took some to my house for my patient who loved it as well . I am so glad we now have a new GO TOO PLACE to eat , I only regret I'm not walking distance or we would order several times a week and try all the menu . Anyone who is not happy for any reason should not discount going back . Just really impressed , tipped 10 bucks and happy to when it comes to my food , I don't expect being waited on hand and foot , .. and everything was CLEAN , wonderful tasting , fresh nice vegetables , fresh nice chicken , .. enough for us to eat . Actually I think , lol , I'll go again today . Please remember to tip well , it is important as it is to all of us and our food , like our children , family , pets , neighbors , teachers , Leo , urgent care personnel, .. etc , all community , all deserve appreciation .
Funny story , once I left a full lobster dinner untouched and paid for , on the table , in Porto Nuevo . My ex wife was jealous of my being friendly and kind with the waitress and staff . I respect my food and those who feed me . End of story . Great food here . All the praise . I expect no more and appreciate Royal Mandarin . The cashier was busy , polite , and brought us two plates and forks with napkins . That was enough . No shortcomings here at the Royal Mandarin . Ya , I e talked myself into it . Two days in a row to have good food . No question ššššš...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLunch Spot with the best deals Monday-Friday 12-3 PM, get the Salt and Pepper Wings theyāre firee. This place is recommended to me from everyone north of Chula Vista as someone from the San Ysidro area, and I was glad to know the chinese food over here is just as good. I really liked the Salt and Pepper wings, they were seasoned really well and had a nice consistent crunch. They were really filling, and I loved that they were super oily. However, I have to admit that I still wouldnāt crown them over my OG spot back in the South (Golden House) but I wasnāt disappointed by them and I can see how theyāve become so famous. The chicken fried rice was a similar story, good but not the best Iāve ever had. It tops the rices at my local chinese places in San Ysidro, but not my OG spot (Sushi House) in Chula Vista, that fried rice is still unmatched. The lumpia once again, were also alright. Thatās also on me for getting lumpia at a chinese place, but they were kinda small although they werenāt bad at all. The soda was good tho and for the fact that it comes from a machine thatās a good sign about the food quality and service. They were really quick to bring the food and the service wasnāt bad at all. The restaurant is also modern and very sleek while staying comfortable and super open with capacity for small and large groups alike. Itās a great spot for gatherings and seems like a consistent chinese place for some good and affordable food. Iāll be coming back for their deals just because those make this place a MUST STOP since you canāt really get that much food of this quality for that cheap, but I canāt wholeheartedly say this is my favorite chinese food in San Diego. This spot is overall though,...
