Smart & Final Extra! — Local services in National City

Pains me to give this review. Everything was going well, all the items I needed were available, produce staff very friendly, but then I had to check out. After reading other reviews it’s clear to me that is the where the problem lies. Kiara ( probably not her real name, her name tag was smeared, but that’s what she told me it is) was humming and engrossed in her phone, avoids eye contact but at the same time her contempt for my existence was obvious. She refused to bag my remaining items , even after I nicely asked her to help me ( others were in line waiting for me to finish paying and bagging my groceries). Yes, I brought my own bags. I suppose that’s the problem. Beware of Kiara’s contempt. I for one will never shop there ever again, as long as she works there. Very bad feeling...

This has been our local grocer for a long time, but I think we're done. It has steadily gotten worse-- uneven produce, limited meat, and unreliably stocked staples. It is an old store and it shows its age-- it is dingy and (to be charitable) hard to keep clean. The worst part, however, is that the staff has become more scarce, disaffected and unapproachable over the last year or two. The morning checker, in particular, clearly hates her job and is just unpleasant to deal with.

I honestly can say Erick , one of my few reason of return loyal base customer(s) per se ! However to your coworker / employee that happen to say “ he’s on what you call a sick one !” Well sorry I am not as well have scram patch !
