Yesterday around 5:45pm I stop by to buy dozen cheese rolls. The bakery was nearly sold out. There was a couple in front of me paying at the register when I heard the cashier asking them how many cheese rolls you want?. She grab a paper bag then went to the back and came back with the cheese rolls in the paper bag. (I know she did because my daughter watched her putting the bread in the bag while I was standing in front of the register. My daughter then told me ask for the bread from the back, she's grabbing the cheese rolls fresh off the oven trays). After the couple left ,it was my turn so I proceed to asked for a dozen of cheese rolls to which she replied "we don't have any more ", then I replied, "the bread from the back, the ones you just give to the other couple fresh from the oven please". She she then replied the same thing, "we don't have anymore ". "But you do", I said. Anyways we did this a couple times I never been discriminated in this place before. I got really upset and moved out of the line because there were 5 more people in line to get cheese rolls. So kept watching her asking each and every one of the other 5 people "how many?" And then walk to the back and grab them all their bread. They were all phillipino and I got refused bread just for not been phillipina. I'm very disappointed and...
Read moreTheir product may taste good but their customer service is lacking. Went in to order 2 containers of mini cheese ensaymada to be picked up next day. When I showed up, it was regular ensaymada, and only 9 pieces shoved in one big box. Woman at counter told me to take them since "I ordered the wrong thing" until I showed her the sticker I showed thebguy to order. She apologized and said to come back 2 days later. I get there today (3rd visit now) and they messed up my order AGAIN and only made one container. And then AGAIN she tried to give me things I didn't order, the ube ensaymada or the cheese balls. Honestly I just took them cause I'm tired of having to come back over and over and have them not get my order right, as if 2 containers of mini cheese ensaymada is the hardest thing ever 🙄
Update: Mark reached out with a solution to the issue, going further than above and beyond. He has a spectacular work ethic and you can see the pride he takes in his establishment. Will be doing business with him...
Read moreI’ve been to other Valerio’s Filipino bakeries but this is the most memorable because of the freshness, price and sanitary practice of the staff. I basically tried one or two of everything and I couldn’t believe how cheap it was! Unfortunately I can’t recall the names of all the items I tried, but their Chinese and Purple hopia, puto and kutsinta is the freshest I’ve ever had. One of the items o had chosen was gone in the display case, but the lady shelling me said they have fresh in the back. She put on a sanitary glove and got one for me, then I asked for another and she put on another sanitary glove which impressed me. I would’ve given this place a solid 5-stars if the atmosphere was a nicer, but what it lacks in decor it more than makes up for in freshness, sanitary practice and value. Cash only, but this helps keep their...
