If I could rate this place zero stars I would. Used to come here everyday for my regular bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches. Had an issue about a month ago that went on for a long time where I was paying for extra bacon but only receiving two strips. At the Ansonia location I don’t even have to ask for extra bacon they just throw it on. I let that slide. Today my fiancé went and got the same sandwich we always get, a bacon egg and cheese & to our surprise there was onions in the sandwich. She is highly highly allergic to onions and had to go to the urgent care. I went and spoke to Kate (the manager) Due to the situation I’d say it’s safe to say that they are dealing with lots of cross-contamination. I contacted corporate yet no one has gotten back to me yet just fair warning if you have any allergies don’t go here. It is with such a heavy heart I write this considering my very first job ever was duchess. One bright side to this all is thankfully I never worked at this location and the owner of the one I worked at would NEVER allow this situation to happen so here it goes: tonight I took my 23 month old to the drive thru (she is teething and only eats soft things when in pain) and the fries were cold so I asked for fresh ones and girl came back said they “put them in to reheat them.” I asked what does that mean? Then clarified did you take them out put them back in the fryer and then put them back in the bag and give them to me? She said yes and looked at me like I was crazy for being horrified and completely dumbfounded. Who does that in food service?! Spoke to the manager who apologized and said I should’ve complained at the window instead of saying I will reverse the charge, I’m sorry. Crazy. Food could’ve been contaminated and during a pandemic this should never happen to another customer....

The food really sucks there. I would not recommend it to anyone. We went for breakfast this morning, put our orders in and my food which included homefries, eggs and toast were cold. The only thing that wasn't cold was the sausage. My wife had the big D breakfast, pancakes, bacon and eggs were also cold and the pancakes were raw, it tasted like batter. Mind you it took the supposedly chef approximately 15 minutes to cook this lousy breakfast. He came over to our table and asked what happened and I explained to him the situation.
