The food is usually great but I’m not too sure if they understand the concept of communication lately. I called friday and it was clearly very busy and they could have said they are doing no pickup but I was on hold for 6 minutes extremely hungry after work, I called back after the 6 minute wait and was told to hold and as soon as it hit 2 minutes I knew I was not going to be tended to. This was after ordering 2 days in a row prior as I was really enjoying everything. Okay, that instance can be forgiven…Tonight, I ordered my usual order (nachos supreme shredded chicken, add peppers, remove onions) that I’ve ordered for a while as there is familiarity even with some of the staff, but was met with an overexplanation of 2 minutes about how the nachos supreme already comes with onions and how it’s the grilled nachos that come with pepper as if I have not ordered this same order multiple times. Then when I clarify that I’m just making the order I usually make, I was told “well no just because there’s you usual people…SIGH” like wait WHAT? And then I pick up my nachos and they were legit a pile of cheese and tomatoes with peppers and chicken buried way underneath—something that is not a coincidence with how I was treated. The same La Casita that I’ve ordered at since 2021 that I naturally always feel the want to tip even just for pickup?? I know there is just no way. The same La Casita that I referred to as Naugatuck’s true Mexican restaurant to multiple people throughout the years???? Dude nah. That’s just messed up. Treating your usual patrons like just anyone else is genuinely upsetting and now, I can’t say I would recommend for anyone to visit here outside of single sporadic visits. The sheer rudeness on top of purposefully screwing with my food has permanently ended my time with you guys and...
Read moreI would not go back to La Casita. I'll start by saying the service was fantastic, our waitress was very kind and attentive, no complaints there! Unfortunately the rest of our experience was pretty lack luster. For starters, we ordered house margaritas which ended up being primarily pre-made sour mix and tequila (we were sitting at the bar and watched it be made) which at the price point (around $10) isn't super suprising but immediately disappointing for Mexican restaurant. We didn't order any more drinks after that because they were simply just not good. For dinner we both had quesadillas and they were incredibly lack luster. I had the shredded chicken in mine which was effectively flavorless aside from a hint soap (and I'm not someone who associated cilantro with that flavor so it absolutely was not that). Somehow even the guacamole that was served with the quesadillas was bland. The real kicker was the literal pile of extremly roughly chopped (I'm talking 1-2in wide) and not particularly fresh iceberg lettuce with 4 tiny pieces of diced tomato thrown in as an attempt to be garnish (or some form pico de gallo maybe, honestly I have no idea) tossed haphazardly in the middle of the plate. Unfortunately I didn't think to take a picture.
All-in-all, I definitely won't be coming back here. Admittely there's more authentic/much higher quality mexican food in and around Naugatuck than this...
Read moreOne of the worst takeout experiences of my life. I ordered a grilled steak burrito, however they were all out of steak. So I settled for a grilled chicken burrito. I told the lady on the phone I would like the rice and beans inside my burrito along with corn guac and sour cream, not just on the plate. I couldn’t really comprehend the fact that their burritos are generally just tortilla and chicken, sitting on top of the rice and beans? But whatever I adjusted as necessary. I pick up my $22 burrito on my way home. I get home and bust open my food to see an unwrapped toritila with only chicken and corn inside, sitting in a puddle of sour cream. Quality was terrible and apparently the chefs aren’t the brightest as the receipt stated that “toppings inside burrito.” 0/10 experience, would never go back. However, if they re named the place to “Chips and Salsa,” I’d give them a 10/10, spot on there. Here’s a picture so you can see the tortilla imprint on...
