My almost 70 year old mother ordered food for her, and I which I was happy about. Because I have ordered from here numerous times in the past for my kids and I and knew it would be good. But they took my mother's and information over the phone and sent the delivery. But asked her to pay in cash when the food arrived. Nobody confirms an order without payment acceptance. They were hoping she was alone and stupid. Good thing her son was visiting. So I tried to order again because I like the pizza. So I started to place the order and the woman informed me that they no longer serve the item I requested. So I suggested that they should update the online menu and the woman got upset and placed me on a "brief" hold. A couple minutes later she tried transferring me to the call center which they never answered so she picked up again but with attitude so I just hung up because I would have gotten frustrated too and that would be stupid if they are the ones making my food. So maybe in the future I'll try again but I think I would have to be desperate because one time I'd forgivable, two times is not professional. But a third time I would just be asking for them to send me wings again with a crushed bone like it was done intentionally because they were upset with my last review. Normally a business wants a return customer so they do things better to bring them back. Not send them something that would be a choking hazard. It's a good thing it was me eating it because an adult will catch the shards of bone as they chew. But if one of my kids would have eaten it it could have been tragic. For my family mostly. But for there...
Read moreI initially rated this place 5 stars. I had rave reviews for them & ordered at least 2xs a week. Until today. I TRIED to place an order for a Small Mediterranean Pizza which includes olives & green peppers. Neither of which I like. I asked for the olives to be replaced with mushrooms & the peppers to be subed with extra feta. I would have subbed for extra tomato if the feta was extra. I was told that if I remove the olives & peppers the sub items would be extra. I find that to be absolutely ridiculous. I don't like olives. How/why does it cost Maguras extra for me to replace olives with mushrooms?!?! It doesn't. It's extremely disappointing to find out that my local favorite pizza place wants to extort money out of their customers for substitutions. I will take my buisness elsewhere than to pay extra for substitutions. I'm incredibly disappointed with Maguras. The food is amazing but I'm just not willing to pay $1 extra for mushrooms instead of olives. It's just ridiculous. I hate to walk away from Maguras, but on principle, I'll have to go elsewhere. I hope they change this policy as I've been frequenting this establishment several times a week, love the food & absolutely hate having to find another pizza place.
Absolutely LOVE Maguras! Staff is super friendly & the food is delicious. Ive had the Mediterranean, Buffalo & BBQ chicken Pizza, Spinach Feta Calzone, Fried mushrooms & the cheezy garlic bread. Best pizza/Italian spot in the area. I order from here at least once a week tho recently its been more & they never disappoint! Far better than Pizza Hut or Dominos & family owned which makes it...
Read moreI was craving some pizza but wanted to try a place I have never been to and Magura was the spot for me this day. I ordered a 14 inch pepperoni pizza, a side of onion rings, and Dr. Pepper for my drink.
I decided to dine in since I was hungry and wanted the food to be as fresh as possible. The food came in about 15 minutes and I took a big hot bite off my first slice of pizza. It was good and I could feel the heat sizzle in my mouth. The cheese and pizza sauce were nicely balanced so one taste did not overwhelm the other. The dough was nice and light brown underneath the pizza and was not that crispy or chewy. The slice was not thick but I do wish it was a bit thinner, but that is just my personal preference. But the pepperoni tasted very average and I was a little disappointed with that. But overall still good pizza for a local shop in this part of Tropicana Ave.
The best I've saved for last. When I tasted the onion rings I was floored by how delicious they were. It doesn't say on their menu if they are beer battered or not but the crispiness and flavors were amazing. Almost had a tad of sweet and sour on the crust of each ring but man believe me you need to try them out to find out. They were big, crispy on the outside, and the onions were moist but not soggy and flavorful on the inside. Very simple yet satisfying and one of the best I've had in a long time. I will try some of the other side dishes next time I pay a visit.
So overall it was good food and I managed to take half my pizza home which made for some good leftovers. Not the greatest pizza I've ever had but well worth it to still...
