I need to be really impressed to hand out five stars, and I almost was, but in fairness to those who work just a little harder, I'm not able to this time. Pros: I had a great lunch at a good price. 1/4 chicken plate with fries and salad, and a glass of passionfruit juice. The chicken was a bit on the dry side, and the fries were average, but it was well after the lunch rush, and the feeling of getting leftovers is pretty common in small joints like this. The juice was very good, and the salad was better than expected for a lettuce-cucumber-tomato toss. My friend's lunch was pretty pricey for what he got, ten and a half bucks for a modest plate of beef, rice, onions and a few fries, and this lower sense of value also contributed to my reserved rating. One last thing: our young female server was completely pre-occupied with my friend, while I was barely acknowledged. Ignored, even. He's a handsome guy, so I can understand, but still, the experience made me feel second-rate. On another day, I can see this nice family restaurant easily earning that fifth star. I recommend for the value of lower-ticket menu items and the home...
Read moreIf you’re visiting Vegas and don’t want every meal to be either fancy casino restaurant or fast food, this is a great option! It’s not far from the strip and my family of three ate for $50….and still had food left over. For the people who are unfamiliar with Peruvian food or don’t want to try anything new, you can get something like pollo a la brasa, which is just rotisserie-style chicken with fries (or rice and beans if you prefer) and it includes a salad. The chicken here was seasoned very well and the skin was well done how I like it, with the meat still moist inside. The woman who served us was very polite and offered great service. The food was prepared quickly as well. The inside is on the smaller side, with maybe 5-6 tables, but did not feel cramped over overcrowded. It was also very clean! This is definitely going to be on my list of places to eat on every Vegas trip. Great Peruvian food at...
Read moreMy kind of Mom and Pop place. Walked in and immediately was surrounded by happy eaters in a VERY small dining area. While deciding what to eat, our "table neighbor" from Peru recommended the Lomo Saltado- Kind of a braised beef stew with a savory- vinegar based broth. It's supposed to come served over french fries, (weird?, not when you saw his plate) but we opted for rice and was not disappointed. The rice was long grain and fluffy and a good compliment to the broth. I ordered the Tallerin verde con bisteck.- Linguini with a neon green pesto sauce that seemed be half chimichurri and half pesto, but blended to a liquid consistency. It was a FLAVOR BOMB. The steak was tasty but slightly overcooked (I ordered medium rare). BUT the steak is thin, so I guess it is easy to get into the "medium" zone. No matter, terrific meal, can't wait to come back to Vegas and...
