Mr G's is a great local neighborhood Pub. Each visit there's always a few of the same old friendly faces. Which I feel is a high percentage of their customer base. Not a lot of new people. The regulars are a culmination that have exponentially grown due to the longevity of the bar . Bartenders are all fun and attentive to your needs except one consistently. I don't recommend mornings. Sorry third shift.
There is one tender in particular that I was fond of... who has been there for years. This one welcomed me very graciously on my first few visits. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Like I found a new bar family and a home away from home.
Which now I've discovered while reflecting turn had also made me part of the next or all-inclusive loyal customer. Nothing like a false sense of security in good or bad company.
Pardon me while I digress. It's a low key kind of place. Where you can just kick back unless your battery dies then by all means don't sleep in your car in the parking lot. Just have a few cocktails. Do a little gambling add vacate the premises.
So, I would call ahead and make sure the kitchen's open. If you're looking to include food as part of your evenings adventure. The kitchen hours are a bit hit or miss mostly miss. They will cook it for you though after you go to the grocery store and spend $50. When you do catch it open the food is pretty decent and served up rather quickly. Which I'm undecided whether that's a good thing or not.
There are two pool tables. Speaking of not do not leave a note on a girl's car that you're interested in. Even if the information, paper, pen and tape is given to you by the bartender. The pool tables are in good shape. I do believe Tuesday is their league night. Which isn't always held at Mr G's.
It would be smart to call ahead just to make sure the tables are available. Another smart move would be to make sure your morality code and ethics are not just above par but exemplary. Like a Priest or an Eagle Scout.
Because if you accidentally find $100 bill on your birthday weekend after losing $1200 gambling and don't announce it or give it to the bartender then you two can be 86'd by the bartender that originally welcomed you so graciously.
Which is...I guess a bit presumptuous thinking that they would be the one person to have you back. A tad disappointing to say the least. As well as forces one to revisit their own standards in judging the character of a person.
I guess that's the maraschino cherry on the sundae this resolve.
Well C'est la vie Mr. G's... but hey all in all it's a great...
Read moreI was surprised. This place is a small little hole in the wall. We found a place called Burgers and More online and it just so happens that it’s inside this Mr. Gs pub. The place is small, has a couple of pool tables and a juxe box. This establishment has two businesses inside the one. So it’s a bit confusing. The bartender was sweet. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke. I like good food though. I thought it was so amazing that even though I don’t usually hang out at pubs, I felt very accommodated. They had a couple of booths by the bar that had non smoking signs and the bartender served good ole Coca Cola! There were people playing pool, drinking, laughing. We felt like we stuck out like a sore thumb but they were so nice to us. Omgosh. The chicken fingers are a must. He hand cuts, batters and gets them. Homemade ranch dressing. They have the biggest juiciest burgers!!! And they have so much more food. They have pizza, Greek stuff. Just really cool. I love when I numb into...
Read moreWell I stopped by this place because I was walking to the quick mart on the corner end of the plaza and THOUGHT I saw a lady in her 20 play pool and so after the mart I decided to head in, I pulled the door, it didn’t budge; I buzzed in, 3 sec later some guy just came out and looked surprised that I was there, I sat on the bar, greeted the bartending lady whom I haven’t got her name, asked for a Heineken, gambled a 20$ finished the beer, stood up, the tending lady said if I was wanting another or or was done and replied is done, left THEN GOT SICK THE FOLLOWING DAY, upset stomach, vomiting diarrhea. I’m not coming back to that place.
I misinterpreted the atmosphere, felt like I was suroounded by people...
