Tried this place out on a Saturday around noon. Ordered the family chicken and ribs meal with chicken pasta, Mac n cheese, garden salad, and 2 extra sides of black beans and mashed potatoes w/gravy. The chicken pasta was creamy, but bland- would not get again. The mac n cheese was ok- my 10 year old didn't like it though & that's one of his favorite foods boxed/homemade/El Pollo Loco/Popeyes, the black beans were ok. The mashed potatoes w/gravy were good. The ribs: the meaty exterior chunk of the pork ribs was super dry, the meat closer to the bone was more moist, but they were not juicy, fall off the bone, or fresh looking like some of the pics posted in prior reviews. The seasoning was good, but more like a rotisserie chicken you'd get from the grocery store, not like a southern BBQ rub and the ribs do not have a smoked flavor even though the restaurant smells like a traditional BBQ joint. The chicken: seemed old and dry...and I went for the thigh. The seasoning was the same as the ribs. IMHO, El Pollo Loco is better and if you want a standard, juicy rotisserie chicken- Smart and Final has a great bird for under $10. The BBQ sauce was weak, it did not have bold flavors like Sweet Baby Rays or Kinder. The sauce for the chicken wasn't that good either; there was a slight taste of cilantro but not sure what else was in it- I mainly used it because the chicken was dry. There were three ppl dining inside the restaurant (on Sahara & Jones) when we went and there were only 2 slabs of ribs cooking, unlike prior pics with several slabs of ribs going all at once. Business seemed slow. No problems with the staff. Food was put together quickly, we were out the door in less than 10 minutes. There is plenty of seating inside, but, unless you want to smell like BBQ the rest of the day, I wouldn't recommend dining inside. I might try this place out for lunch for a wrap during the week. Maybe the chicken will be...
Read moreI used to go here all the time with a buddy. The food is good, but for my liking, never amazing as he rants about it, none the less, the food won't kill you, so that was a reason I have gone back in the past. I walked in today with my buddy again and was demanded by the cashier I needed a mask because it was the "law". I informed him (not yelling or confrontational) that it is a governor order, not a law to wear a face covering, not a mask, so I pulled my shirt above my nose to cover my face while ordering and he still wouldn't take my order. After this, I walked out without an argument because clearly, the owner hasn't informed the employees of the proper nomenclature or actual laws. I don't know if that is the herd mentality these days, but I would encourage the owners and employees to become more informed and not just follow these current issues and commands blindly. With that being said, I won't be going back and will be happy to bring my business elsewhere . Again, I must reiterate, there was no fight or shouting, just a significant amount of...
Read moreWe were driving down Sahara when we caught the smell of Nevada's bbq. The smell was so overwhelming we turned right around and went right on in. Ordered the 1/4 Rib & Chicken dinner for $13.95 which came with a drink and one side. I had coleslaw and mashed potatoes which werent bad, they didnt have any fries, brought my check with the 2nd side to $19.54. Found that a little pricey. Everyone wore masks and gloves and we sat inside and ordered at the counter then they brought our food in to go containers. No fries though. When I opened the food container I wasn't impressed. The portions were small, 3 ribs and a small chIcken quarter. Very lack luster if you ask me. Taste of the food was okay but not a typical bbq place. Something felt like it was missing.
There wasn't any food being cooked on the outdoor grill it was all cooked inside. Everything thing was okay but I dont think I'd go back. Let's say the smell was better than the actual food.
They have wraps and salads and the family size dinner costs $55.00 for a rack and a chicken with 2...
