Went for dinner last night and I don't even know where to start with this review because it was a doozy of a visit. I ordered the Grilled Chicken BLT sandwich and a side salad. On the sandwich it has pickles on top of the bun held by a toothpick. Well, you know what happens to a bun when something wet is put on it, it gets soggy. Then went to lift the sandwich and the whole bottom of the bun was soggy so I'm sure the meal had been sitting there waiting to be picked up from the kitchen for a bit. I thought no big deal I'll just eat it without the bun. Well, the chicken was dry and tough I had a hard time even cutting it with a knife. So I just moved on to the salad and when I took my first bite I thought something tastes off with this but maybe it's just the ranch is not a good brand of ranch. So I took a second bite and it was even worse. On the second bite I guess I got more of the bacon crumbles and there were some bigger bacon crumble pieces in it or somehow some other pork item got into my salad and it was RAW!!! I was trying to wash my mouth out with my water and decided to eat a piece of cornbread to get the taste of the salad out of my mouth and when I pinched a piece of the cornbread off and put it in my mouth I immediately spit it out because it tasted like chemicals. My husband smelled the cornbread and said it even smelt like chemicals. When our waitress came over finally and I voiced my concerns and we even had her smell the cornbread she said, "yeah that doesn't smell right it does smell like chemicals man thats weird I'll have to investigate that." Then proceeds to lay our check down and walk off. Didn't even have time to tell her we need a manager nor did she even offer to go get a manager. Of course the manager that was there was mostly too busy playing around with the employees. The girl up at the register was about as helpful as everyone else and by this time I was fuming so bad that I would've caused a huge scene so I decided it was best to walk away at that point. Please do better and make sure if your employees are "too busy" to ask a simple question of "How is everything?" At least have a manager walking around making sure everything is okay instead of him or her being too busy being friends with the employees. It was a visit that went from bad to worse with the whole meal. When we go we usually go in the morning for breakfast and I will say I've never had a problem with the morning crew. They are always on top of things and the breakfast is always good but this crew from last night...
Read moreI gave two stars for the food because it’s always amazing. However the service was not. We went on Sunday after church and as usual Cracker Barrel was slammed busy. We knew we would not get fast service so we weren’t expecting it. However after we get seated we waited for about 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. This would not have been a big deal if the person who took our drink order said that they couldn’t find our waitress. Then our waitress came out and took our order. She asked if we wanted our fixins our before or with the meal and we said before. She then disappeared for another 10 minutes. She came out and told us that they were making more biscuits and that she would have them out when they were done. So she disappears for another 20 minutes (this is all time stamped on the receipt). We keep seeing other people getting biscuits around us and the other wait staff were refilling our drinks because our waitress was MIA. Finally she brings out the food and leaves before I could tell her that there was a mistake on the plate. So another waitress came by and asked how everything was and we told her that there was a mistake and she asked who our waitress was so she could get her. Our waitress brought out the correct order and then disappeared again. We waited to get our check and by this time the general manager had come out. She saw that we had empty plates and that we were looking around for our waitress. So the manager went to find our waitress who walked by and set the check down before we could even speak. Now I want to point something out here because this is an online review and everyone assumes that it’s exaggerated. We never once stopped anyone to get refills and we never spoke to the manager. We were not rude nor were we demanding in any way. We went in trying to be extremely patient because we knew that it was a busy time. But this experience exceeded the patience level we had. I’m not going to say we will never come back to this Cracker Barrel because that’s probably not true. However when we do return we will make sure to get a...
Read moreWas around 8p on a Monday night. Think we were the only ones in there (4). I admire young ppl who go out a get a job but I also get a kick out of them. My dad ordered breakfast. She asked how he wanted his eggs. He said hard. She looked at him and said what’s that. He goes not runny but hard yolks. She couldn’t figure it out and just handed him her pad so he could pick his eggs. My mom ordered Mondays “special” something with chicken, rice n gravy. It was not good at all. I told her maybe because they make specials with leftover food. She gave it to my dad who will eat anything but even he has to say no thanks to it. She got a side of chicken and dumpling. She showed us how her cup had ONE dumping in it and a small piece of chicken!! She loves their chicken n dumplings so rather disappointing. I’m guessing because it was an hour till closing and they needed to make it go further so they have her what was left in the pot. My son had the chicken n dumplings with a side of dumpling and it was the same. They should have just told us they were out of them or they only had enough for one bowl. 3 of us ordered it from sides to dinner. Total waste money. No manager would come to the table. Once the bill came we didn’t see the waitress again. On the other hand I got the 2 entree n 2 sides. I got meatloaf n chicken n dumplings. Mash potatoes I got brown gravy which had mushrooms in it. Wish I had known. I did enjoy the meatloaf. The chicken broth I could of went without. Also the carrots were so soft a baby would eat them with no problem as they turned to mush. I’m pretty sure no nutritional value was in them. It had been cooked out. The way prices have gone up, you still expect to get a decent meal for what you pay. They should of never served broth!! We should of gotten a choice for something else or a refund. Wish I had taken pictures of it. But seeing my mom so upset and trying to make things right by sharing my food, it just wasn’t important. Cracker Barrel has just...
