Waffle House — Restaurant in New Albany

I’ve been to many Waffle House locations and always order the same meal and order with the same wording. I order “A grilled cheese on Texas toast, a double hash brown, and a side of bacon.” Hundreds of times without ever having a mistake, it has come out as ordered with the bacon on a side plate. My experience on 11/6/24 at 8:00pm was different, they put the bacon on the grilled cheese. The mistake was fine and I somewhat can see how the mistake was made but I asked if they would make another(especially considering that I specifically say I want a side of bacon rather than a bacon grilled cheese). They took it back and I apologized for being difficult and thanked them. Just to hear the cook complaining about having to fix it and said “I’m not remaking it, I’m just going to pull the bacon off and send it back out with fresh bacon. The sandwich was absolutely disgusting and I couldn’t eat it. The cook seemed to be in a rush just to go sit in her car on her phone and smoke cigarettes. The server was nice and good, but the cook seemed like she did not care whatsoever and was mad I sent back an order that...

I have previously tried to contact this store in the past and never got an answer. I went in and they claimed they never got my call, but they had no business. Well, today I tried calling again, and again no answer. So, I go in to eat to see if I hear them get a call. One of the females mention how the phone wasn’t ringing. Well, the male had replied and said, “well there is a reason you don’t hear the phone.” He then explained how he turned the ringer down. So, I confronted him about the last time I couldn’t get ahold of them. He said, “we were busy and I was outside.” He then corrected himself and said after we got rid of the business I went outside because that was the only time he could get a smoke break, but there were two working there. I feel this is unprofessional and if you go outside the phone shall join you outside with the ringer on! I really hope y’all can fix this probably because no one wants to come place an order and wait for it to be done, when they could’ve just called and picked it up when it was ready. ESPECIALLY with the pandemic. This is RIDICULOUS. Other than that the food is...

This is one of the most nasty places that I have been ..in many years..

Sorry if you're about to get there, hope this is only me.. But I'm not stupid.. The people is really friendly, the prices are cheap in compare with Pancake House over gold coast in down town Chicago.. If you know what I'm saying.. I'm not comparing Brands, or kind of services or prices, this is about clean kitchen, clean people, clean cups, fresh coffee, clean bottles of ketchup, clean glasses, clean floor; again, if you don't pay attention in that part I'm gonna walk away.. And call 411 asking for food inspector.. Cause that place was nasty.. Dear lord.. Nasty in capital letters.. NASTY.. From top to bottom..

The flavor was the 2 🌟 that I'm giving you.. I drove all night 12 hours from Chicago, I was exhausted and starving.. So that was my one and only open option..

So drive an extra mile and avoid that...
