Alianca is a heavy hitter for Portuguese food in the region. A smaller half-bar and half-dine-in that may look like a hole in the wall, but holds some amazing, traditional food inside. I feel every restaurant has the dish that they’re better at making, but Alianca holds their weight across the board. The food is always fresh, hot, and the service always attentive, even for a random weekday lunch or takeout. The Mozambique chicken/steak are some of my faves (pictured). Most restaurants over-rely on hot sauce or seasoning but here is a chef’s kiss. Authentic flavor with no shortcuts. Love the whole garlic cloves in the sauce too. The baked stuffed shrimp is really good too, but I could keep typing about the food. You should just go, they deserve the love.

Honestly wasn't impressed. The last few times I've gone, the food quality has gone down. Just went tonight to have dinner with my mom and my kids and we split the fisherman's platter. The batter on ours and even my son's fish and chips tasted old and the oil it was cooked in as well. the service was not good at all. The girls are very good and friendly but for some reason the guy that works there just seems like he cannot be bothered or just doesn't take hints when the food is done or refills are needed. The tables are small and have limited room as is so more swift service would be appreciated. I've gone here for years and I know Suzie has worked very hard so that's why the last two times have been so disappointing.

Wonderful. Parking is difficult but worth the aggravation. The servers were so warm and friendly. I had felt a little uneasy in the tight congested neighborhood but they out me at ease and made me feel so welcome. The shrimp Mozambique is life changing and far better than Antonio's nearby. Antonio's is also charming and good but for shrimp Mozambique I give Alianca the crown. I also had an Azorean steak that cut like butter and melted in the mouth. The pumpkin cheesecake was a great cap to my meal. If I was driving past New Bedford, I would make a special detour to go here again.

After a fun day out with my family, we decided on visiting Aliança Restaurant for dinner. We have never been there before, and I was in the mood for good Portuguese style cuisine. Because I have never been there before, I was hesitant on what to expect. We were greeted by our waitress and sat down to order.

I ordered the Portuguese Steak (medium rare), my wife ordered the Chicken Mozambique, and my son ordered the Jr Steak (also medium rare). As the food arrived to the table, I was surprised at the large portions per plate.

After the first bite of my Portuguese steak... I was instantly blown away and sent into another world. My steak was cooked perfectly. The flavor combinations had a wonderful mix of passion, authenticity and everything that a great dining experience should have.

I couldn't help but snag a bite of my wife's Chicken Mozambique and all I have to say is.... "Wow!!!" From the sauce, down to the quality of the chicken... it was amazing.

Everything was deliciously wonderful!

I am thankful to have stumbled on to this place and will, surely, be visiting it more often!!!

UPDATE (06/02/2022): My wife and son had brought me here for birthday dinner, as she knows Aliancas is one of my favorite place. It was decently busy, and we were told there would be a 45 minute wait due to short staffing. We were welcomed inside and understood the circumstances.

I ordered Surf & Turf, my son ordered a medium rare steak, and my wife ordered Mozambique steak. The waitress with the pink hair was great! She was accommodating, pleasant with her service, and made the experience a lot more wholesome.

When the food arrived, I was blown away as far as previous expectations. My steak was cooked perfect. My son and my wife also had perfectly cooked steaks. The shrimp that accompanied my meal was amazing. The stuffing that surrounded my shrimp with was loaded with flavor that knocked me off of my seat.

For dessert, I had no idea my wife and the waitress had discussed something and I was surprised with a passion fruit mousse and a birthday celebration that ended my experience at Aliancas as a great one.

Highly recommended and will be...

First time trying this place with my husband and brother. The experience exceeded our expectations. There may be a wait for your order, but to us, it was worth it. The food was delicious, fresh, and nicely presented, something we truly appreciated. Our server was very attentive and pleasant as well. I had the grilled codfish with double veggies instead of the carb options. My brother had the surf and turf and my husband the T-bone with extra veggies instead of the carb options. We also ordered the littlenecks garlic style.

The dessert menu list was impressive. Unfortunately, we declined as my husband and I are on KETO. However, it will be the first place we'll go to for dessert as soon as we take a break from it.

Highly recommend this place!

Note: Dinner reservations are a must as...

The staff for the most part were friendly but that would be the only positive comment I can offer. We went out to lunch with my 95 year old grandfather and my 2 year old little boy. They didn't get him a high chair or booster seat. It was a bit dirty looking inside. They didn't take our order for a while. They didn't serve the bread and butter. It took them almost 2 hours to be served out meals though there were only 3 tables to serve! It was awful. The food wasn't even worth the wait and they served me the wrong meal. I was so frustrated with them that I just wanted to get out of there and ate it anyway. It seemed as though no one cared either. We certainly will not be returning. If you want Portuguese cuisine, go ANYWHERE ELSE. In the area there are enough to...
