Flip This Dollhouse — Local services in New Bedford

I stumbled upon this AMAZING gem of a place roughly a year ago and have only had the opportunity to make it back twice since but OMG this place is incredible!! You can no longer find shops that carry real doll houses and real doll furniture other than the kit stuff at Hobby lobby. I had all but given up and then Flip This Dollhouse appeared! The place is just brimming to the gills with every kind of piece you could possibly imagine! There are so many dollhouses everywhere to choose from in every stage of completeness and style and every single one of them was completely set up just to give you ideas! Then there were cases upon cases upon cases just filled with every type of furniture and accessory you could think of!! All kinds of variations of all kinds of things. It was so fantastic not to be limited to the same old redundant things you find over and over again. THEN there were the completely unique items that had been handcrafted!! I was just in awe… miniature little paintings that had been hand painted…..like 50+ different, all shapes, sizes and subjects 🤩 each one a masterpiece! Miniature perfume bottle trays that brought back memories of my mothers dresser ❤️ the place was unbelievably amazing!

Then there was the service. The first time I went, there was a man, I can’t remember his name, but if you go, you get to see all of his dollhouses that he has contributed in a section of the store as a sort of “idea and viewing area” each one a masterpiece, each with their own theme, something that had never occurred to me prior to this actually! 🤩 he was so helpful and pleasant, and completely enthralled with my ridiculous excitement at finding the store! He talked to me about everything and walked me all around! He was fantastic! The second time I went I got even better service from the owner, Nathaniel! He too was so genuinely happy to show me all the little hidden gems of the store, clearly taking time and energy away from his day. We ended up chatting for well over an hour!

If you even remotely like dollhouses, this place is a MUST SEE, MUST VISIT! I can’t wait to get back there...

This store is amazing. If you have plans to go, be prepared to spend some time there, a lot of time there. There is so much to see. I had the opportunity to visit this store and I spent an easy three hours shopping and chatting with Nathaniel and his staff about our dollhouse projects. Take time to have Nathaniel point out some of the more decadent pieces that are for sale or in private collection. You won't regret it.

The store is massive (on a dollhouse scale) and everything in the cases, as well as the over 100 houses is for sale. I made a first pass throughout the store and snapped photos of interesting items. Once I made my first pass I placed items into my shopping cart. Don't worry if you cannot find a certain piece in the shop, Nathaniel can find it based upon your photo.

The store is filled with everything from houses to room boxes, artisan pieces to play pieces. Flip This Dollhouse is known for its beds. There is everything from rustic to grand beds, each dressed so well. There are also wonderful furnishings that the store embellishes or creates themselves. These also are so authentic. The store also has building supplies such as doors, windows, papers, and hardware. However, the inventory levels vary from item to item, so if you were looking for 12 identical windows for a build, you may not be able to secure all 12. With that being said, I was fortunate to purchase the most beautiful kitchen inspired wallpaper.

If you cannot make it to New Bedford, no worries. The store will occasionally do videos of the store and if something catches your eye, take a screen shot. Nathaniel is quick to respond to FB messenger and can provide additional still shots and do your purchase based upon your screen shot requests. I have also made purchases this way and packaging and shipping was perfect.

I traveled in Dec 23’ from California to New Bedford, MA just for this store! Its gigantic & all things dollhouse related including dollhouses in all sorts of makes & designs, including one of a kind replicas of New England style homes. I wish I had rented a truck to come back home with items, but it wasn’t in the cards for timing. Nathaniel, the store owner was at the store & took extra time showing me each and every house with all the details in it. I was looking for a storefront style home & while I found many, I didnt connect with them. I flew home a week later & found a storefront dollhouse in Nevada (it has 4 storefronts & 3 apartments; 67” Long by 2.5” tall). The search was on for one of the storefronts decor & I messaged Nathaniel to locate in his store what I was looking for. Not but a half hour of talking back n forth, he got a couple of sets together for me to use in 2 of my storefronts! The bar counter is perfect for my diner! These pieces are so adorable! Nathaniel also provided a discount & put in a lot more extras to my store front dollhouse! Thank you so much for the communication, the discounts, the packaging, & fast shipping! I can’t wait to go back & spend a few more hours...
