Let me start by saying my review is not about the food - I would always get the crispy chicken salad and fries - they have the best fries in new bedford- and i was always satisfied with it. That being said, I cant order here anymore.
After calling a few minutes before 10 (they close at 11) and my boyfriends card declining- we called back to use my card. The card reader had been shut off. After a back and forth because I didnt understand how that made sense since their hours say open til 11, i asked about going in to pay, meaning with cash instead of card, and was still denied the order. They did not say this was becauae they were closing only insisting their card reader was off, which shouldnt matter since i wanted to pay with cash at that point.
When i called the next day to make a formal customer complaint about the situation, because i genuinely felt it was an employee error or misunderstanding, the manager- instead of just saying sorry for the inconvenience and the trouble- he simply explained that he had shut his card machine off after the first card didnt run. I explained to him again i asked if i could pay in cash and explained i had just gotten back from work so it was truly frustrating and confusing when 2 minutes later my card wouldnt be run, i was tired and hungry. i asked why my request to come in and pay with cash was ignored and now, the owner basicaly says back to me what i just said to him. Saying they were all tired- he can close the place whenever he wants, he wanted to go home he was tired.
Just wow. The owner nor the woman who took the call never told me they were closing the night of the call, just harped on the card thing. I know now they just wanted to close and didnt want to prepare any more food- a sub, a salad and fries. Ive never left a review for a restaurant before, but seeing as this place was a fixture in my week, sometimes twice a week, I really want the owner to know that GOOD customer service goes a long way. Dont lie to your customers, dont make excuses. If you’re closing, just politely tell your customers that you’re closing - dont flip flop on it being about the payment method.
The owner was unprofessional and childish making excuses and talking over me until finally just saying it was his business he cpuld do whatever he wanted and close whenever he wanted. Well and fine and true- just tell that to your customers politely and at the time it is relevant. “We’re sorry for the inconvenience but were closing for the night and wont be taking any more orders” would have gotten a “aww s* that sucks thanks anyway” from me. Insead they weren’t forthcoming and have lost the $30-$50 revenue they would have gotten from me on a weekly basis for the most part, not to mention the delivery drivers who i always tipped at least $5, sorry guys :(
Just work on your customer service skills, make your customers happy, make them feel understood and cared about. Dont lose another customer who really loves your food just because you dont know how to...
Read moreI order from them weekly & always the same thing. 2 large 1 topping so I can get the special $19.95 (linguica & pepperoni) & a large cheese. Well today because not all my kids were home I only ordered 2 large and I specifically asked if I can still get the special if one of the larges are half & half and he says yes,so I order a half linguica/half pepperoni & a xtra cheese. It was 5:08pm and my pizza arrived @ 6:06 pm almost an hour! It ends up being large cheese and half linguica/half cheese! Where's the pepperoni? So I call to tell them and they start telling me "that's not what I wrote down so u must have said it wrong"! No! I know what I ordered,I know what my kids like,I order the same thing every week for years so I ask to talk to whoever is in charge. This guy gets on the phone by the name of Rico" and he continues to argue w/ me about what I ordered & that his guy has been there for yrs and that's not what he wrote down. As I try to explain he continues to argue and now raising his voice & talking over me so at that point I said so now ur willing to loose a good customer over 1 pizza? Extremely rude, ver poor customer service and I will be making further complaints...
