I was very surprised by the amount of space inside.. when you drive by, it seems so small, and folks are always going in/out as if there is no seating available.
However, it was very loud between the music playing and whichever sporting event was playing above the bar area. Unfortunately, I do not speak Spanish, and this seemed to be a bit of an issue with the young lady that was serving myself and my friend. He spoke Spanish beautifully.. she seemed a little annoyed when I had to ask what the entrees were, and I didn't recognize them right off. I'm sorry, even though I love Spanish/Dominican foods... I can't tell which is pork and which is goat. The food was delicious and enough for lunch that day and dinner the following day. The portions were big, and the price, I would guess, was comparable.. I don't eat out a lot, and when i do, it's breakfast. Overall, it was...
Read moreThe food was good but somewhat overpriced for the serving size and average quality of the food. I'm just going to be honest and say this isn't the best Spanish food I've ever had. It's probably good for a quick lunch. The food is never hot and doesn't quite look or taste fresh to me. That's the problem with serving this type of food in a cafeteria style, instead of fresh made to order. They kind of skimped on the portion sizes. I would try it again and maybe go earlier in the day to see if there's a difference. But in general there are other places I could go that would probably have a much better experience, it was mediocre. If I'm going to pay $14 to $17 for Spanish takeout, then it better be good, it better be hot, and it better not look like it's been sitting...

We were driving back from a whale watch on the Cape and even though it was almost closing time when I called, they waited for and stayed open for us. The staff is very friendly and the casual atmosphere, with music playing, makes for a great lunch or dinner out. Don't miss Celia's on your next trip to New Bedford. Much better than any of the restaurants on the water and much more affordable. Dinner for 3 was $42 and we had 3 plates overflowing with delicious...
