Pa Raffa's Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in New Bedford

Amazing food, great prices! Love the atmosphere! Since we have discovered it about 3 weeks ago we have been in about 9 or 10 times, we were just there 2 days ago. Introduced a friend to it. Today my daughter and I went in for a light lunch. Our bill was $10.15. We weren't aware they didn't take credit cards and our waitress informed us and quickly walked away. Not having a pin # to our debit card, we only had $6 cash on us. Mind you we live in the neighborhood. She never came back to our table, which was awkward. So I had to go find her and let her know I only had $6 on me and I would leave my daughter there and go grab $5 at home. I've been a waitress for years. If I had a customer who's been in A LOT, I'd have told them "no worries, catch us tomorrow or next time your in"..which would have been in 2 days to take a friend to dinner. To make matters worse, after I left, my daughter was sitting alone at the booth, the waitress went over to the counter and clearly said something about us because 2 other employees looked over at my daughter who was embarrassed enough. All it takes is 1 person who has no public service skills to ruin a place. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Probably wont be back. Which is a shame because the food is decent. My absolute favorite pizza place... however made me extremely sad 2 weekend ago when I bought 2 salads & 2 pizzas here...I was there for 45 minutes about when I had placed my order previously over the telephone they told me 30 minutes and I got there in about 25 minutes then had to wait an additional 40 minutes for two salads to be made as I watched my pizza and food sit there for another half hour needless to say the pizza was cold the salads were made incorrectly and when I had originally ordered I asked for one small side salad but then I had canceled that in order to dinner salads and they still charge me for the side salad plus the two Garden salads and the cold pizza I was extremely disappointed and every time I walked back in they just looked at me smiled and I said is my order done yet and they just kept saying oh it's almost ready we're waiting on the pizzas but the two pizzas they gave me with the same two pizzas it was sitting there for at least an hour I was very upset wasted $50 on food my family and I didn't even eat...

As a parent of a child with sensory issues, this is the only place she will eat pizza from, which is a miracle to see her eat whole foods. So as you can assume, at least once a week, we order take-home food from this restaurant and often go for family outings here. We have NEVER had a bad experience with the food or the customer service. It is true that the restaurant could maybe use a modern update, but this is still a quaint little place that is well kept. The waitstaff is always on point, super friendly, and the food always comes out hot and delicious. They do not skimp on their portions and the price is definitely fair and worth it. I would opt to say they could probably even raise their prices and it would still be at a fair price point...
