Dinner's Ready — Restaurant in New Bern

Today, May 13th, I ate here for the first time. THE SERVICE was friendly and professional. I had Ribs, greens, Mac and Cheese, and corn. It was a meal that took me back 45+years. DELICIOUS is the only way to explain the taste. It was a meal that made me feel wonderful. If you like southern cooking. GO THERE!! You will thank yourself after you eat.

On Saturday 8 June, I drove from Jacksonville to New Bern with 6 other people. Before I left Jacksonville, I checked the web site and called the business phone. The web site said open at 4pm. I arrived with 6 additional people just to read a sign that said. "Closed for the month of July for 5 years of service". If they knew this why was it not posted on the web site or why did the business phone not note this. I like this place but I will not waste my time...

Well, we had gone for the first time tonight. We both got oxtail, 3 sides. Ridiculously delicious, tender, fall off the bone, great flavor, big amount of food. So full, couldn't even finish it all. They are open 2 days per week. Fri and Sat, 4-8pm. I hope you open more because there are no restaurants like yours here in New Bern. There should be. We usually have to drive down to Jacksonville (40 minutes away)for oxtail or our home state, (13 hours) away. We will be back!! Awesome!!. Friendly family oriented take out restaurant. I stop by and get a plate almost every Friday, Ox tails, collards, Mac& cheese, rice and sweet potatoe fluff with marshmallows on top, YUMMY!!! You get plenty of food for your money. Rice is included with all plates + you get 3 additional sides of your choice. Now where else can you get that? They also cater. Good down home country cooking made with plenty of Love. Just fabulous!! Stop by and try it out, Friday 4-8 & Saturday 4-8. Get there early, there is always a line even before...
