Taqueria El Sazon Tapatio — Restaurant in New Braunfels

Too bad I couldn't rate with a negative star. I had been going to the place since it opened, never had an issue with the service or food, it was always good. About 5 months I had an issue with my Carne Guisada Taco. It only had 3 Small pieces of meat in it and whole lot of gravy. I let our waitress know in Spanish which i am fluent in cuz she only spoke Spanish so there was no misunderstanding, apologized n said she would let the cook know. so I wait assuming she was going to bring me a couple more pieces of meat since I had shown her my order. NO SHE DID NOT, which surprised me. Well I decided to give them another chance maybe they were just having a bad day. BIG MISTAKE! We ordered 2 chicken and 1 beef fajita plate. 1 of the Chicken Fajita plates had a ton of onions n peppers, and very little chicken which did not even fill a tortilla. we let the waiter know which apologized and went to check what he could do. Which he could not do much more because they had instructed him that all of the food was pre-weighed so the order was the way it wad supposed to be. The beef fajita plate had more than both of the Chicken. 1 of the Chicken had more than the other chicken fajita plate. so if everything is pre-weighed could they explain to me what was in front of us, NO. The lady that was in charge never apologized and never acknowledged that she was in the wrong with the proof in front of us. when we finally had a bite of our food, the beans had no flavor, the tortillas were not made in house they had a plastic texture like the ones u buy off the shelf at the grocery store and the were somewhat burnt and hard. I should have expected this at the beginning of our order when they brought us our salsa n chips, the chips were not hot and were looked n tasted like they were commercial store bought chips. Not the chips that the use to make. when I went to pay the same lady in charge asked me if "Everything was okay" which surprised me, Because she did not do n e thing when it was initially brought to her attention. So by then I was annoyed, gave her my opinion, which once again argued with me and never apologized. Didn't make her understand. when she said "good bye, we will c u next time" , I replied " I don't think so." We will not return to this establishment. I really don't understand how this restaurant has high reviews(it's probably family members or friends) but I am one UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER. Their meat is disgusting, it smells and taste like dead animal.... they either under cook the meat or recycled the meat from a previous night or defrost meat leaving it outside. I am no expert in restaurants but did take a an exam required by the state in order to work in any place that requires me handling food and the following is for every restaurant owner: do not leave meat outside to defrost, when the meat is left outside it accumulates germs that causes food poisoning. Leaving the meat outside to defrost while accumulating germs like wiping your ass and not washing your hands and then have your dinner. The restaurant it self is cute but there's a ton of spider webs from the ceilings and accumulated dirt that can easily spread to the food. I would come back to this restaurant for the drinks only but to eat there, NO. I don't plan to have my next trip to the hospital nor do I plan to take any of my family to hospital. Unless you are ready to walk out with upset stomach including diarrhea and headaches I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT THAT GOT MY BABY GIRL SICK BECAUSE OF THEIR NASTY ASS MEAT!

La verdad que no entiendo como este restaurante tiene altas y buenas criticas cuando en realidad se merese lo peor de las criticas empesando y terminando con la carne que usan. No es mi primera experiencia pero si la ultima. Los metodos que husan para la carne es muy claro que necesitan clases sobre como cocinar la carne... El restaurante a casuado problemas de Salud comenzado con vomito, diarrea, dolores de cabeza que pueden estar por dias... No volvere ha este restaurante porque no planeo en poner mi salud en riesgo. Tampoco planeo en llevar a mi hija al hospital por falta de recursos departe del restaurante. YO NO RECOMIENDO ESTE RESTAURANTE.... y si llegas a comer aqui suerte y toma mucha agua. Este establecimiento necesita una buena limpiada para quitar todas las telarañas y tierra acumulada. Volver a comer aqui es como limpiarze el culo y no lavarse las manos...

We went on a slow Monday night 7/29/19 & I’ll get straight to the point the service was lousy, our refreshments were served promptly and the sweet tea tasted old and after conversing with our friends or about 15mins we realized the waitress never came back for our order. I walked to the register to see her on her phone hiding behind a wall so I told her we were ready to order. We tried ordering a breakfast plate for the additional $1 that the menu states but she told us they don’t serve breakfast, regardless if the menu offers it. Our food finally arrives only to realize the tortilla were old, the mini tacos of barbacoa weren’t made correctly and the meat tasted old, the Jalisco burrito tortilla tasted old as well definitely can tell it was packaged. The taco salad was good, I will give them that but throughout our dinner not once did the waitress return to check on us I went once to the register to find her on the phone and ask for refills. Our children’s cup didn’t have ice when originally served. All in all it was horrible and will never go back or recommend to anyone. I didn’t say anything because we were recommended to go and eat here, we had invited a family to come and have dinner. I didn’t want to look like a complainer in front of them so I blew everything off, I grew up eating authentic Mexican food so this was nasty food and felt my $70 went to waste.
