LISBETH CAFE RESTAURANT — Restaurant in New Brighton

Do not judge this restaurant based on its scarcity of interior decoration. This is the restaurant’s only weakness.

Most importantly, the food is excellent, comes in large portions, and is underpriced given its quality. The tabbouleh salad, which comes on a massive plate, is the best I have ever had (and I have had a lot all over the US and UK; it is my favorite Mediterranean dish)

Secondly, it is owned by an incredibly friendly and welcoming woman, who deserves great praise for her work. Her dedication to the quality of her food and to the wellbeing of her customers is second-to-none. When my mother informed her that we were trying to get in and out in under half an hour to catch a flight, she told us which menu options would get us out most quickly and exerted extra effort to ensure that our order was placed before we had to pay, further saving us valuable time. She did not have to do this, but it showed that she was already invested in our welfare. Our food was ultimately prepared in under 10 minutes, giving us ample time to make our flight.

Between the high quality of the food, the low prices, the friendly and concerned staff, and the speed at which our food was provided, I have no issue with awarding this restaurant 5/5 stars.

We have been coming to this restaurant for a long time, back when it was Original Mediterranean Grill (OMG). We stopped in recently, knowing that OMG was planning to close down but unsure if the change had happened yet. We were both sad and excited to see that OMG was no more, and in its place was a brand new restaurant, Lisbeth's! Eager to meet the new staff and try the food, we entered. Greeted by the lovely, strong smell of burning incense, our immediate impression was positive. We spoke to Vicente, who welcomed us in and patiently took our order.

We ordered a few items we hadn't tried before, the pork belly with fried plantain/cheese balls, avocado, and two fried eggs, the cheese empanadas, and a corn pudding drink.

The food came out rather quickly, smelled delicious, and when we got home and tried it, we thoroughly enjoyed each and every bite. Absolutely fantastic!

I was driving past one day and saw this place and said I had to go so I brought my friends and I’m so glad I did. When we walked in the door we were greeted and sat down immediately. The man that was there stared played some great songs and was super nice upon meeting us. He gave us plenty of time to order and made small talk. Once we were ready he took our orders immediately and the food came out quickly. The food was so good. They had this really good dipping sauce that can’t remember the name of but it was soooo great. The meat in my order was seasoned so well, the veggies tasted super fresh and the sauce was just delicious!!!! I tried some of my friends food too and it was all amazing. He gave us water on the house because we are students and even stopped us from tipping, I would’ve tipped him if I could he was so kind. I would recommend this...
