Guac Time Mexican Grill — Restaurant in New Brunswick

Usually when I come here I have no issues with any employees. This time I walked out without even buying my bowl after it was made because of srija’s disrespect and hostility. From the start I knew something was off when I asked for half white half brown rice and she refused for some reason even though it’s usually no issue. I let that slide and continued to order like normal until I noticed she was skimping on ALL the toppings amd chicken. I asked for queso and she put less than half of a scoop so I asked her very nicely can you put a little bit more, she again adds less than half a scoop and before she tells me that she’s considering that 2 toppings very aggressively as if she is fed up, she continued to keep skimping on the toppings and even the guac that im paying extra for. I’m not sure what I did to deserve this energy from her. When it came to the onions she grabbed tiny little bit with her fingers and sprinkled them which I thought was ridiculous and I said to her this is very little can you please add more. She started arguing with me and refused. She wanted to charge me .50 extra when she already isn’t letting me get all 8 of my toppings. I was still going to buy the bowl but I asked for her name and she kept saying it very fast so I wouldn’t hear it so then I asked her to spell it for me and she refused and started mocking me to my face when all I’ve been was respectful. I had to call back the store and ask her coworker for her name. I piulled my phone out to take a picture of her so I can post this review since she refused to give me the name and she started yelling and cursing at me in front of everyone in the store “ARE YOU MAD?” Not sure why she’s worried if she doesn’t think she’s in the wrong. If you’re going to disrespect somebody and try to scam them out of something they’re paying for at least stand on...

Went to Guac time twice so far. The first time I went I ordered in person and got a chicken rice bowl and I was extremely satisfied with the taste, portion size, cost, etc.. So I decided to return to this place and this time with a group of 25 of my friends. One of my friends informed me that there was a deal on Uber Eats where you could "buy 1, get 1 free" so I was extremely excited and placed my online order but there was one extremely negative trend me and my friends noticed. Anyone who ordered online received far less food specifically rice and chicken, than anyone who ordered in-store. Even for me, my portion size was probably 35% smaller than when I ordered in person, and this is extremely concerning as places such as Chipotle are currently getting backlash for this sort of inconsistency. Overall it takes away some of my trust in the restaurant as I believe my portion size should be the same whether I order in person or online. For those of you wondering whether the difference was just because maybe the person preparing the food was different... well I can assure you it wasn't because my buddies that ordered in person and had their bowls made by the same person that did my online one got a lot more food.

Guac Time is an absolute gem! Located in the heart of New Brunswick right next to Knight Club. Forget about Chipotle because this place blows them out of the water! The food is always super fresh, the portions are massive, and there are so many great options to choose from. The honey chipotle chicken is a flavor explosion! Some of the best chicken I’ve ever had! My wife and I visit this Halal friendly spot at least once a week and it always hits the spot! From bowls, tacos, quesadillas and even crunchwraps, the food here is always amazing! The owners Sultan and Usman are one of the nicest, most friendliest people and always treat their customers with the upmost respect. Thank you Guac Time for always filling our bellies...
