After we were turned away from a different restaurant, we called a few local places and Song was one of the ones that was able to take care of us. It was 8:15 and they close at 9pm. I thought that was really nice and a good thing to do in a competitive environment. Good start. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a smile and with prompt service. Not with negativity because we were dining late. Our server was kind and polite, and prompt. The atmosphere is relaxing and warm, with a casual feel, not fancy. I ordered Gyoza which were amazing, including the ginger soy sauce that came with. We also got the Mongolian beef, combination fried rice, and a nice sushi roll. The food was quick to arrive, fresh, and delicious. The meat was tender and so flavorful, plus no questionable pieces. The sushi roll was packed with fresh ingredients, and had nice mix of textures. We got the Golden Tuna. The fried rice was amazing too. We left our plates clean and there was no food leftover. I highly recommend this place if you are local or visiting New Buffalo. I will definitely...
Read moreCame here on Sunday for lunch. Ordered some tea, Tempura Chicken Bento, Mongolian Beef, and the Happy Family Combo. The dishes also came with soup or salad, and we got miso and egg drop soup.
Their egg drop soup was amazing. The consistency was perfect. The Happy Family Combo was like a medley of different kinds of seafood and meats, which were all good. The Mongolian Beef had the right amount of spice. They also come with a cup of steamed rice.
The only downer was the Tempura Chicken Bento. It was probably just 2 thin strips of chicken. And the rest were veggie tempura (broccoli, string beans, sweet potato, mushroom, onion). I wish it had more chicken coz that's what I ordered, and not some random fried veggies. The menu also mentioned shumai, but I got spring rolls so I'm assuming they were out that day.
They have lots of seating available and also has a restroom at the back. They do get lots of online orders based on the people who were coming in. The service was still quick, and they refilled our soda when it was...
Read moreSong Asian Cuisine. I've danced on the edge of this gastronomic abyss more times than I can recall, plunging headfirst into lunchtime escapades and dinner-time deliriums, and let me tell you, disappointment is a stranger in this joint. The atmosphere? Electric and inviting, courtesy of a staff that seems to channel the very essence of good vibes and authentic hospitality.
As for the food — ah, the food! Dive into their vegetable tempura and it feels like a raucous, colorful explosion, an uproarious celebration of textures and tastes. And the General Tso's Chicken? A savage ballet of flavors that’s as potent as a double dose of ether.
But be forewarned: Once you've embarked on this culinary journey, the mundanity of the everyday food-scape becomes a dull, distant memory. Song Asian Cuisine isn't just a restaurant; it's a siren call for the famished souls seeking a taste of the extraordinary. Mark my words, this isn't the last they've seen of me. The road may be wild, but it always leads...
