New Buffalo Township Library — Attraction in New Buffalo

Newer, cute, clean library. On theme for beach town. One star for encounter with rude childrens' librarians. As summer residents in Harbor Country, we frequent New Buffalo's library often. Today (Saturday at 12:30), our quiet, respectful 5 year old was playing while two adults supervised him in the empty teen area and he was rudely asked to leave by an older librarian. We were informed the board is enforcing no one under 11 is to be in the - empty - teen area...Shouldn't childrens' librarians have better natural rapport with the kids in their chosen place of employment? My child cried and hid from this unkind woman. Consideration should be made for children under 11 clearly playing properly with adults supervising, teaching and guiding. The best library in the area. Longer hours and more days than others in the area. Nice librarians. Good functioning computers. Good Wi-Fi, and plenty of periodicals. A good supply of books. A whole floor of children's books, etc downstairs. Audio books and videos too. A large conference room and private conference rooms.

Who doesn’t love nice architecture with free books and movies and ways to get books sent to you if they don’t have it for Free???? Libraries, I love them. This one is nice and quiet upstairs and it has a (unheard from upstairs) area for kids downstairs with games of all types and books of so many types and genres.
