Hacienda San Miguel. — Restaurant in New Castle

The food and service were both great. They have a huge menu with a lot of food, drink, and dessert options as well as a discounted lunch menu and a kid's menu (duh!) We got the carne asada which was perfect and levanta muertos which I've never seen before but had to try and it was huge and delicious! Our meal also came with chips and salsa which was pretty average, nothing to complain about though. The atmosphere and decor here is nice. They have a lot of meal variations, so depending on what you get your meal could range from $10 to $35. I LOVE that there is a LOT to choose from! There is a menu in the reviews you can look at. We went in on a slow day so our server was very attentive and very nice, not sure how quick the service would be if it were really packed in here. We waited about 10 minutes for our food. Seems like the reviews on this place have been hit or miss, but when I went the food was hot and delicious and the service was quick. I will try to go again during a busy time and see if that changes (hopefully not). :) But as for now, this is definetly a great place to go eat out with your family or friends for some classic Mexican food. Insanely bad food - the worst Mexican food I’ve had by far. Both my partner and I got some of the saddest enchiladas ever. The chipotle sauce on mine tasted like spicy ketchup and heartburn. My girlfriend’s looked like a microwaved frozen enchilada that had been left overnight. They served it with bland white rice and corn.

Service was almost non existent. Server smiled and was nice but did not interact beyond that. No offer of chip or salsa refill. No water refill or check up. And our food took over 30 min. I went to use the bathroom in the back and saw that like nothing was happening in the kitchen despite people being in the restaurant. Long but honest review, sorry to be so harsh. This review is a little late in coming, but my wife and I definitely remember this place as it is some of the worst food we've eaten. We have traveled a lot and eaten at a lot of places and I don't tend to ever post reviews when stuff goes bad. We even used to live out of a van on the road, and it's memorable to us because the food was not good at all - I think we may had taken 2-3 bites each and left the rest of the food.
