Best meals, hands down, we've had in the Valley!
We've been exceptionally lucky over the years to enjoy many Michelin Star restaurants (both in the US and abroad). While Pig & Duck may not have a star (yet), this is one of my top picks for favorite meals both generally and in Colorado. Lovely space, excellent service (from phone, to front of house (at different times either Darlene or Lorna), to our fabulous server, Laura).
Some highlights for our meals have been their Duck Bao Buns, Tempura Shiitake, Duck Gyoza, 16-ounce Teriyaki Ribeye and, not to be missed, their Specialty Meat Platter (normally comes with pig, duck and incredible sides but, as I don't eat pork, we special ordered in advance the platter with steak and duck). Large enough for at least four people (six-to-eight if you're models)... and we had leftovers which were even delicious the next day.
We have never, ever, had better duck than here (not even in Alhambra). The meat was moist and the skin crispy perfection. The alchemy and love that creates that kind of magic is not to be missed. The steak was also cooked to perfection and incredibly flavorful.
Desserts, if you have room, were also great (special cookies and rice pudding).
Next visit, we're looking forward to having some Ramen (well... plus the meat platter... which is now a must-have).
Worth every penny, calorie and, depending on where you live in the Valley, mileage on your car.

Read moreWe chose this restaurant for a cozy date night, and it ended up being quite an adventure! The space was much larger than I expected, with an upscale atmosphere that made it feel like a special treat. While I don’t eat pork or care much for ramen, my boyfriend loves ramen and was eager to try this place. I’m writing this review for anyone who might find themselves in a similar situation—being “dragged along” by a ramen enthusiast!
The menu leans heavily on duck, pork, and ramen dishes, with a few vegetable-based options and two steak dishes. The steak is on the pricier side compared to the ramen, so keep that in mind. For starters, we had the duck dumplings, and let me just say—they were incredible! They completely changed my perspective on duck, and I’m now excited to try more duck dishes in the future.
I ordered the vegetarian ramen while my boyfriend went with a more traditional option. Although I wish I’d been brave enough to try the duck ramen, the vegetarian ramen exceeded my expectations. The noodles had an incredible flavor all on their own, unlike any I’ve ever had, and the mushrooms tasted so rich and savory they could have been mistaken for steak.
We also enjoyed a Palisade cider drink, which was absolutely lovely and paired well with our meal. The service was phenomenal—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable.
Even if you’re not a ramen fan or hesitant about the menu, this place is worth a visit. The flavors, quality, and overall experience won me over, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and delicious...
Read morevery disappointed with the food. Service was great until we asked to have the leftover potion of the appetizer placed in a box to take home to our son. We never received it. As for the appetizer, it was the sticky ribs, no flavor at all, sauce was like water with none on the actual ribs and the ribs appeared to be boiled, I have ordered this before at similar restaurants (price level and expectations) and this was no where close, honestly a joke. I ordered the Teriyaki ribeye medium rare, received it rare with first 1/4 inch on each side burned. Having worked in the restaurant industry and knowing a high end cut ribeye, this was not a $48 cut of meat, way too much gristle that had to be cut out, and nowhere near what the price said it was. I also noticed the table by us had the same issue, the gentleman did not finish his steak. My wife ordered a pork Ramen bowl and was impressed by the broth but that was it, ramen was under cooked and pork required my steak knife to cut. Mushrooms were great but that was it. As for the ambiance, music was an interesting choice, temperature was way hotter than the old Mauds and then Eat, honestly uncomfortable. Even heard a table behind us ask if a window could be opened as it was very hot. We took a shot at the new place after hearing negative reviews from friends but will not be back. Very...
