I am late to writing this review. My partner and I visited during a cross country road trip last year, and it was delightful. In fact, I came back to write this review because every time the topic of omelettes and breakfast come up, we remark just how tasty and memorable this place is. Great little place with some friendly folks, they joked with us, and superb breakfast, no kidding. See photos. Go!

My husband and I ate at "The Lazy Bear" for the first time during a busy noon rush. The owner was anything but lazy! He was the seating host, server, expediter, and bus boy and did all jobs with speed and grace. Food was delicious, a slightly undercooked pattymelt burger was quickly fixed by the equally impressive kitchen staff. We'll eat here again next time we're in the area😊🍔

During my getaway trip to Newcastle, I had the pleasure of dining here, and it was a fantastic experience! I tried the veggie skillet and the green chili steak skillet, while my boyfriend had the steak and eggs breakfast. For dessert, I indulged in both pancakes and their blintzes.

The skillets were the highlight for me—the green chili added a bold and flavorful taste. It wasn’t hot at all so mild chili enjoyers would be safe, especially to the otherwise slightly bland steak. My boyfriend felt the same about his steak and eggs, but overall, we both enjoyed our meals. I also preferred the blintzes over the pancakes, which were good but didn’t stand out as much.

The pricing was reasonable at about $20 per person, including a drink and a full meal. The portions were generous and kept us satisfied for the entire day!

One thing to note is that this place gets extremely busy on weekends, especially as the morning goes on. Despite the crowd, the staff worked tirelessly and made sure everything ran smoothly. I was impressed by their dedication!

What really stood out was a gentleman who appeared to be the owner. He went out of his way to check in with guests and even chatted with neighbors, asking about their day and business. It was a personal touch that made the experience even more special.

If you’re in Newcastle, I highly recommend stopping by—especially for their skillets and blintzes. You’ll be well taken care of and leave with a full,...

This place is darling, very “mountain-town cute.” We are so grateful as the power was out in the entire town and we were starving. They were able to cook some things on the grill and in the fryer and let us know what choices we had. The food was cooked exactly as we requested it, which was a delight and could not have been easy without electricity. The staff was very attentive, my only complaints are that I asked for juice and got a very tall full glass, only to learn that they also offered small juices. I would have liked to know I had a choice of sizes. Also there seemed to be some question about the price if I had paid with card instead of cash, however, I can chalk that up to the confusion with the lack of electricity. I would...

I ordered a Chile Relleno breakfast dish. I picked it because it was a meatless item, so I thought. But it had shredded meat on top. Although it was tasty, I would've preferred if I knew in advance that meat was on it. I didn't see it in the menu description. I follow a mostly vegetarian (meatless) diet. So I wanted to put that word out for others to be aware and ask the right questions.

Also, it was a little hard to get the waitress' attention when we were ready to order. My friend was feeling a little rushed because of her work schedule. We tried to be heard but felt ignored.

Otherwise, everyone seemed happy with their meal, for the most part. I am disappointed that mine came with meat when I tried...
