My apartment complex sometimes have pamphlets laying around for restaurants around the neighborhood to try out some food. I saw the New Panda House restaurant pamphlet, and I decided to try it out by ordering delivery.

The person I spoke to on the phone seemed nice. The order was easy to make, and I was told it was going to be ready in about 35-45 minutes. My order was a medium size amount so I think that was a fair amount of time.

Skip forward 45 minutes, I called to see if the order was on their way. I spoke with the same person. She said the driver was already on their way. The restaurant is about a 10 minute drive from the apartment complex, therefore the delivery shouldn't take long to be done. I also tipped their driver $6.

25 minutes later and the driver still haven't arrived. I wasn't angry or anything. I just assumed that chances are the driver is probably doing multiple deliveries which can be stressful. I decided to call to check up on the status, and the person I spoke to on the phone said they would check up on the driver. Roughly 15 minutes later the driver came and delivered my food at my door.

Now, as far as the taste of the food, there weren't any distinct flavor that made me say "Wow this is pretty good!". I ordered the orange chicken and house lo mein with egg drop soup. I haven't ate the lo mein yet because I'm saving it up for lunch at work. So I'll probably update the review later tonight. I think that for it's price and quantity though, it's fair.

If you want some affordable Chinese food, this is a pretty alright place to order from. Would I myself order from here again? Maybe every once in a while. This would not be my first to go to for Chinese food. I would even say that Panda Express orange chicken is a lot more tastier. Overall though, I think 3/5 star is fair.

Update: After eating the House Lo Mein, I was actually pretty impressed with the quality of the dish. Because the dish was overall pretty good, with it's great pricing and quantity, I'll update my rating...

So going to have a little rant. They delivered our meal this evening and forgot the rice. Easy fix right. Send out rice with the next driver right. No they told me it would be an hour until they could get it to me. So then I asked what there were going to do about the cold meal and asked them to remake the dish so I could have the whole meal hot. They said they couldn't do that. Then I told them to just go ahead a refund the meal. they then put me on hold for over ten minutes. When they got back on they said they could not do that and that they would send out a new meal and that I would have to send the old meal back with the driver. weird but OK no problem. This conversation was supposedly with the manager. Five minutes later they had there order taker call back and say they were only going to deliver the rice and not replace the meal like they said they would. I was pretty upset by this point. I again told them to just refund the meal and I would forget about it. They said again they wouldn't do that. I told her this was unacceptable. I said I would need a refund or have my order remade so I could have the meal hot. If they weren't going to do either I then asked the poor girl (sorry but it is very upsetting that the cowardly owner wouldn't even talk to me and had this poor girl have to deal with the situation) if she was willing to lose me as a customer. (now we have been customer there for over 10 years and have spent $10,000's of dollars there) She would not answer and said again they would send out the rice for me to have with my now cold meal. They chose to lose my business over a $15.00 meal because of poor customer service. So never had any complaints about the food. I hope none of you have issue with a meal because they will do everything they can do to avoid making it right....

Great price for the quantity and quality of food you get. My delivery arrived warm and on time. I placed the order on their website and followed up with a call to confirm it was received and to get an estimated delivery time. They assured me the order was being prepped and would arrive in 15-20 minutes.

This restaurant serves what I’d call classic Chinese-American comfort food. Great for lunch at the office on a cold day. I ordered from their Luncheon Specials and enjoyed the wonton soup and kung pao chicken, the latter of which was balanced and tasty, not too sweet or acidic, and allowed the rich flavor of the mushrooms to come through. The chicken teriyaki was also good—typical chicken skewers you see at Chinese buffets—but they were a bit bland and undercooked for my taste; I like it fried a bit longer so it’s crispy, and would’ve liked more salt or seasonings.

To be 5-star for me, they would need to improve the flavor of their luncheon items a bit; the chicken teriyaki and curry chicken were both greasy and somewhat bland. Overall, it was clear they put great thought and care into their food and service though, and you get both at super agreeable prices.

I look forward to trying their Chef’s Specialties, moo shu and other chicken dishes someday in the...

I recently visited New Panda House, a Chinese restaurant in New Hope, Minnesota, to satisfy my craving for what I consider traditional Amercanized Chinese food. I had received their menu in the mail, and when I opened it at the table, I was impressed by the extensive list of options. We decided to try a few dishes: the Shanghai spring rolls, cream cheese wontons, pork fried rice (a classic I use to judge any Chinese restaurant), and sweet and sour pork. The sweet and sour pork was absolutely spot-on—delicious and perfectly cooked. The pork fried rice was flavorful and did not disappoint. The cream cheese wontons were enormous and perfectly fried, earning a big thumbs-up from me. However, the Shanghai spring rolls were a letdown. The filling was too mushy and bland for my taste, though I liked the idea of them. Overall, while the restaurant is undeniably a dive, it delivers on good food. We'll definitely be back for more!
