There's a daily special that's written on the board when first coming in. On the right when entering, there's 6 booths, a sitting bar area, 2 regular tables, and a booth behind those. Each table, be it in the booths or tables, has a different picture on the top of the table. Mainly pride for the military and local heroes, with small cards offering for local business owners to be able to have their business advertised on their table tops for 2 years(limited to amount of tables, of course). There is, when looking through the doors of the left, another area with tables for if the right side gets full. It has two large tables for groups, too.
I got a single slice of special batter French toast, it having cinnamon and sugar on it. I also got 2 sides of bacon(6 pieces). My Significant Other ordered the daily special of biscuits and gravy, with eggs and hash browns.
The service was fast for us, and it even looked a little busy.
His meal: Spicy gravy is very good, having Italian sausage in it. Biscuit is fantastic. The egg is good, too. He added a little salt and ketchup on his Hash browns, but was good. He is from a southern state, so it is a high compliment if he finds it very good/fantastic.
My meal: The French toast is delicious more because of the cinnamon. The syrup is a little thick, which is a nice change. The bacon is absolutely delicious, too. 😋 tasted like applewood smoked bacon.
They have homemade pies and cakes for dessert, and it shows to ask of the options.
Total came out as 35$ in total. Definite...
Read moreMy first time going here was really looking forward to it until I was hit with racism. My husband and I went in there and it wasn’t busy at all. We ordered our food and waited about an hour when we saw a couple come in of two men and they got their food. Then another table came in with six people and they got their food so we just sat there and watched while people got their food before us. The waitress didn’t even tell us why we didn’t get our food. She continued to take orders and serve other people there food instead of us. I am really saddened by this because I passed this place every day as I live in the neighborhood so I finally decided to try and I’m hit with racism. I’m really sad by this because the state of the world we’re in right now like come on we can’t even go in a place and get food. Sad. Godbless to the evilness we all still have to endure. The owner didn’t even have the common decency to come out and speak to us. We were customers new customers at that coming to try out this family business and this is the thanks we get. I will not be recommending this place to anyone and will make sure I tell everyone I know about the treatment...
Read moreThis place has all the makings of being a great hole in the wall, but falls short. Very divey looking, seasoned veteran staff, bunch of regulars; but the food was average at best. We ordered the chorizo omelet, eggs Benedict and the banana walnut French toast. The omelet was rather flavorless starting with the chorizo. It was more like dry chunks of ground beef. The hash browns were very crisp on the outside, straight mush in. It was like unseasoned mash potatoes thrown on the griddle to crisp up. The French toast was also okay. No flavor in the toast itself, just the sliced banana atop. The raw walnuts were bitter and only saved by the powdered sugar and bananas. Three at our table ordered the Benedict. All three were disappointed by the huge slab of ham that covered both Benedicts being over cooked and very tough. The hollandaise had no flavor. Not even bad flavor, just…none. Super big let down. We were really excited to try this local gem. Don’t understand the hype or all the shining reviews. Maybe it was an off day? Either way we won’t be back,...
