KFC — Restaurant in New Lenox

Original Recipe Chicken was very greasy tonight. I use to work at KFC 30 years ago and I know that this happens when either the chicken has immediately come out of the pressure fryer and not allowed to drain for 10 to 15 minutes or that due to demand the pressure cooker was not allowed to get back to full temp before starting the cooking cycle. The wings were ok but they drain the quickest. The legs, thighs, and breast's were soggy and the bottom of the bucket was full of shortening. My order was suppose to have a large fry which I caught before leaving the parking lot after picking my order up in the DT. I went inside and to my surprise the manager was on her cell phone on a personal call the entire time they were cooking my fries. She was working on packing orders but perhaps that is why I didn't get my fries the first time because she was distracted with her personal call on her cellphone? I don't think a manager should be doing that because you can't direct your employees. The employees were newer but they were extremely nice and polite and took care of my issue. I will go back as this has always been my go to KFC especially when they had the buffet back in the day before Covid. The tenders in my meal were excellent, as well as the fries and coleslaw. If this place can get zero stars it would. Waited longer than 45 minutes to get my order. I checked the order and I’m missing 4 out of 6 sides. I get out to go inside and they locked all the doors. It’s about 6:30pm at this time and they don’t close till 9:00pm. I knocked and all of the doors and the employees are no where to be seen. I go out to the back door and you see the whole crew standing in the back I go to knock and I tell them what was wrong and they tell me to get back in line and when I do they tell me they gave me all my sides. I tell them no you can look you gave me two mashed potatoes the guy there said we made your order twice. I’m thinking to myself so where did the first order go? I’m like ok then I want my money back you can take the chicken back the guys said ok you can keep the chicken. They gave me a refund. I get home and look at the gravy and it’s all water. Never will go there again. And I will be calling corporate to make a complain about how unprofessional...

I ordered the 30$ tender and bucket meal for pickup and when I got home, they had forgotten my large Cole slaw and the 8 tenders. I called the restaurant and asked for a refund as I didn't want to make to 40 minute round trip to pickup the food after I had gotten home already. I was told that they were not going to give me a refund and that my only choice was to pickup the food today. I went to the restaurant already aggrevated and when they gave me the bag I checked the food thoroughly this time and they tried to short me out on the tenders that I paid for and seemed frustrated that I checked or even said anything. I've had issues with this restaurant before and have given them a few chances. This treatment was the last straw. I can't wait for the Popeyes and the Raising Canes to open in New Lenox, I'll drive farther and pay more to not give this particular place money.
