Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in New London

We look forward to April for many reasons. One is the opening of Rita's.

They have great Italian ice but I love their frozen custard. Last year, due to the egg supply problems, they had to shift to an ice cream recipe. Not bad but not Rita's frozen custard. The custard is back...with a vengeance.

This year, they added a machine that allows them to offer nine flavors of custard. Usually they have vanilla, chocolate, and a rotating third flavor. The new machine gives you a dizzying variety of tasty choices.

The price is reasonable when you consider the quality and the service. I recommend downloading the app and use it to earn rewards.

I'm sorry but dessert is the way to go after a meal or before a meal. This place ties Coldstone. You come in and the options are endless. I really like they expanded their custard flavors and you can add it with an Italian ice. Although Everytime I come in coffee custard always seems to have a problem but many other flavors. The pumpkin ice vanilla custard combination is so yummy. Definitely a place to go when the weather starts to be nice. I also like they have a Reward system. The smiles on my kids faces and not going to lie mine keeps me coming back. Brought a friend who had never been and the enjoyment on her face...

The lady behind the counter was super courteous and understanding for it being my wife's and mines first time visiting Rita's. She was able to walk us through the process of the made fresh daily Italian Ice and talk us through the specifics of the frozen custard. Our products were amazing and we will be back for more. It was a very clean store and serving area. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area or living in the area. A quick tip to remember Rita's is a seasonal store so you have to get in before the weather...
