The Oasis Pub — Restaurant in New London

Found this place by accident while waiting for a train, and what a jewel of a find it is. We got there right after it opened and it was quiet, but quickly a few regulars showed up and the atmosphere couldn't have been better. The bartender was nice, funny, and made us feel as welcome as the regulars at the bar too. The decor and just overall vibe was stellar. I can only imagine how great it would be during peak hours with more people and live music. It is on the smaller side, so I can imagine it gets crowded, but that's half the charm of a hole-in-the-wall...

Since even before the pandemic there has been a dearth of quality bars in New London - a little city that should have a surfeit of them.

Oasis is a bright spot.

For a relatively compact space, it more than pulls its weight in terms of hard booze (try the homemade Apple Pie Moonshine), local and specialty brews (at reasonable prices), and a mix of some of the best dang people in town.

I found this little pub while I was on a date on my birthday. The atmosphere and crowd was pretty decent. most of all, I love the fact that they do live performances. Unfortunately for me the person who I was with wasn't feeling the music and wanted to leave.
