I recently had a custom ring made at Northern Lights Gems in New London, CT, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. I had been wanting to create a new piece using my grandmother’s gems for quite some time, and I wanted it done with precision and craftsmanship I could trust.

Tony, the owner and master jeweler, was a pleasure to work with. His knowledge and skill gave me complete confidence throughout the process. He took the time to understand the style I wanted and provided clear guidance and design recommendations that made the finished ring both timeless and unique.

The final result exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship is flawless, and the ring showcases my grandmother’s stones beautifully. Tony’s attention to detail and expertise as a master jeweler truly stand out. He will definitely be my jeweler for future pieces I have in mind as well.

I left my Rolex with the owner after the time on it had been starting and stopping. I was told he would reach out: After many days, I called to check and see what the appraisal was, and to see if it needed to be fixed. Mind you it was serviced a couple of years ago and one shouldn’t need to do it for 7-10 years again. It still hadn’t been done and I was told to call back in an hour. I’m assuming it hadn’t been looked at yet and then he rushed through it. He’s supposed to have a watch repairman offsite so I’m not sure how that makes sense. I called back and was told $850 which is outrageous, so I passed. I picked it up and now there is something moving within the watch face and it won’t work whatsoever now. Not only did he attempt to rip me off with price, thinking I didn’t have any knowledge, it was returned broken. It will now need to be professionally fixed and I will be well over $1200. I had visited several jewelers in the area for my husband's wedding ring when I came across Northern Light Gems. The staff and owner (Tony) are so welcoming, really pleasant and patient. When explaining what I was looking for, Tony took time to sit with me and create a custom piece (within my budget) that both my husband and I are so pleased with. It did take a little bit of time for it to come in, so my only recommendation is to maybe allow 2-3 months ahead of time, if you are ordering a Lashbrook custom piece and have a specific date to meet. We didn't have a time constraint, so this was not an issue we faced- just a heads up for those who may.
