Great Wall Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in New Milford

Today I ordered shrimp, chicken and pork lo mein and steamed pork dumplings from this restaurant. Even though the food smelled burnt and looked slimy, I was so hungry that quickly I gobbled it up. Halfway through though, I realized it just didn’t taste good. I stopped eating and I looked carefully and realized that the food was oily, the meat and vegetables were very sparse (two small shrimps, several strings of what appeared to be either pork, chicken, or cabbage), old and shriveled, smothered in soy sauce. I smelled the meat inside the dumpling and noticed a very strange oder. I was still very hungry and tried to eat again. I couldn’t though, it just didn’t smell right. This was my first time ordering from this restaurant in many many years. I couldn’t understand how this restaurant was still in business this long. Six hours after eating the food, I want to throw up! I spent $20, have half of it left in the refrigerator, am hungry as all hell, but will not touch it. They really need a 0 star system. 1 star is just too much! By the way, the lady everyone claims is rude, did not bother me. If the food is good, she could be as rude as she wants to be. Nothing like making someone change their 5 star review to 1 star. I ordered on the Door Dash app at 7:20PM for pickup. It said order would be ready between 7:40 and 7:45. Then, at 7:21 I got a text saying that my order was ready. I didn't believe it, but I left home and arrived at 7:35. The lady working said OK, just a minute. She then gave food to 4 other people that were waiting there over the course of 20 minutes and said to me, "Okay, I'll start yours now"... This was at 7:50! I said I got a text at 7:21 that the order was ready. She said she was sorry, she hit the button accidentally. That's fine because I didn't believe it anyway, but I would think that the best thing you can do to make up for your mistake is get the order going right away .. but no, at 8:01 I finally walked out of there with my food. 40 minutes after it said the order was ready and 26 minutes after I arrived. The worker appears great there... she runs around and moves fast, but running around to get things done and running around like a chicken with your head cut off are 2...

Wanted to get Chinese takeout. Apparently, Great Wall is the only Chinese food takeout that is open on Monday in New Milford. The order was ready within the timeframe they gave. Plenty of parking in front. They take Covid very seriously. Please see the pictures for their safety precautions. We got a few different selections. The best was the chicken and broccoli. The sauce was delicious. Also got General tsao which is my favorite. Unfortunately, there was not much taste to it. Also got crispy orange beef. Didn’t have much of it but it tasted good. As a side got pork lo mein with no vegetables. One of the better lo mein I have eaten. Overall a good experience. They are not my first choice, but they are always open...
