Big Y in New Milford is one of the best grocery stores in the area, and it consistently delivers a top-notch shopping experience. The store is large, bright, and well-organized, making it easy to find everything you need without feeling overwhelming. From the moment you walk in, you can tell that cleanliness and customer satisfaction are priorities—the aisles are tidy, displays are neat, and everything feels fresh and inviting.
The selection is outstanding. Their produce section is always well-stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables, often including organic and local options. The meat and seafood departments are impressive too, with quality cuts and a wide range of choices. I also love the bakery section—fresh bread, pastries, and cakes that are hard to resist. On top of that, Big Y carries a great selection of pantry items, specialty foods, and prepared meals, making it a true one-stop shop for busy families.
The staff here really make the experience special. Employees are friendly, approachable, and always willing to help track down items or answer questions. The checkout process is smooth and efficient, with both self-checkout and traditional lanes available.
What sets Big Y apart is the balance between big-store variety and personal customer service. Prices are competitive, the quality is high, and the shopping experience is stress-free. For anyone in New Milford or passing through, Big Y is a fantastic place to stock up on groceries—you’ll leave...
Read moreI waited over close to 12 minutes with just 2 people in front of me already being served at the deli... noone else around.. at about 10 minutes I noticed there was a digital number board, but saw now kiosk for the numbers.. the guy then calls 14 I kindly told him I have been waiting forever and did not know there was a number system here.. that's when I noticed the number tickets basically hidden all the way at the corner... So the person serving me went to serve the person who magically had the number 14... disrespectful customer on top of the person serving... If the manager of the store reads this you need to move the ticket kiosk out into the open space of the floor versus hiding it at the corner on the counter hidden with other stuff around it. This was terrible service and it's a bummer because the store looked very nice, but not too sure I will be able to come back after this poor service. This could have been handled much better and professionally by your employee to simply explain the situation to the other customer... versus ignoring me and then taking the other person's order after I was the only one waiting here for those first...
Read moreThis supermarket is in desperate need of a customer service revamp. I’ve been shopping here for 3 years. Today I walk in at 8am and ask an employee which aisle are the Q-tips in, after not being able to find it myself. With the look of his facial expression when I said Good morning, I knew which way this convo would go. He didn’t stop to listen to me, he tells me “ I have no idea” and keeps on walking without breaking a stride. I proceeded towards the front registers. I see two ladies and ask them the same question. The one lady actually looked on a piece of paper and said it should be in aisle 1 or 2. She asks another employee near by which aisle and he says he thinks aisle 1. (Both confused) I thanked them both and headed to aisle 1, nothing. I checked aisle 2, nothing. At that point I gave up. Two of the three employees who knew what I asked for in the front, a minute before, looked right at me and didn’t bother to ask if I found what I was looking for. I just paid for my other item and left. This is not the first time I experience the lack of customer service 101 in this...
